La Focacceria Pugliese — Restaurant in Lisbon

Outstandingly unfriendly staff. Maybe because I was alone, or did not speak Portuguese, but when I asked if they had a table for me, they said they are fully booked, and offered only the waiters table in the entrance room where the cashier is (not the cosy inside room). I said I can come back, and came back half an hour later. Another tow guys entered, got a table right away, and I was denied a table again (even though there was space inside now). I overheard the main waiter in charge say to the waitress (who was slightly more welcoming) that "they will not give a table to a single person". Maybe to keep a table open for potentially two people that might come later? Misrable customer service. Never had something like this happen before. The level of arrogance spoiled any good food they might have. But I never tasted it in...

Real Italian food..simple but well prepared,at least it was last week, but then we returned on a Monday, and it was a totally different experience. The carbonara was greasy, with no creaminess from eggs, just lots of over rendered guanicale..very disappointing. The pasta with shrimp and zucchini had 6 nice size shrimp, but they were mushy and overcooked, as was the pasta. We make a special trip to go to this restaurant but will not be returning...

Prima di tutto il propietario non è un italiano pugliese, ma portoghese, e non era nemmeno presente nel locale. Detto dal cameriere questo ristorante è uno di 3 presenti in Portogallo, perciò purtroppo non è gestito da veri italiani. Per quanto riguarda i panzerotti, che hanno varianti non esistenti in Puglia, sono abbastanza decenti anche se dovrebbero essere più grandi e l'impasto più leggero, in quanto è un po' pesante. Le pizze anche queste sono decenti, ma non buonissime: l'impasto era un po' gommoso. La focaccia non l'ho assaggiata, ma l'aspetto non ha niente a che vedere con LA FOCACCIA PUGLIESE. I dolci decenti niente di che. Per quanto riguarda il servizio, i camerieri non parlano italiano, ma addirittura non sanno parlare nemmeno bene l'inglese. Non mi piace il fatto che servono soltanto quello che hanno già preparato, in Italia si prepara al momento ciò che il cliente vuole. Non è nemmeno cortese togliere i bicchieri e sparecchiare quando il cliente è ancora al tavolo. L'ambiente interno molto carino, moderno e moderatamente pulito. Prezzo abbastanza onesto, nella media di un ristorante italiano all'estero. Concludo dicendo che non ha senso chiamare il ristorante "Focacceria Pugliese" se poi le focacce sono a malapena...
