An unfortunate low-point on our Lisbon experience. Made a reservation several weeks in advance for a Saturday evening, and were highly anticipating our visit. Initial first impressions were good, from the friendly welcome by the concierge in the reception area, to being shown to our table with a fantastic view. Unfortunately the dining experience was spoiled by the presence of an intoxicated gentleman man in a BVB Dortmund football jersey, who used profanity throughout, chain smoked, and was literally sick in his hand after consuming a Tequila shot....Not what you want to experience when trying to enjoy your evening meal. Unfortunately the staff seemed more amused than concerned by his behaviour, and appeared to know him. Food was good, served quickly and was reasonably priced. Service was ok, and the waitress was friendly. However after clearing out plates, despite a 20-30 min wait, we were not offered the opportunity to order post-dinner drinks, or dessert (the young man had left by this point). We therefore decided to settle our bill and leave, and took dessert and post-dinner drinks at the fantastic "Old Pharmacy".

We had a phenomenal dining experience at Lumi Rooftop! The atmosphere was warm, elegant, and welcoming (we didn't have a reservation). Every single dish we ordered was outstanding — bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced. We started with the tuna ceviche, which was fresh, zesty, and incredibly well-seasoned. The duck spring rolls were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired with a delicious dipping sauce. For mains, the pork shoulder was fall-apart tender, rich, and deeply satisfying. But the star of the show might have been the oxtail croquettes — crispy, savory bites of pure comfort and sophistication. We asked for the wine of the month, a dry red that completely blew us away. It was bold, smooth, and had a wonderfully complex flavor that paired beautifully with all of our dishes. Service was top-notch: friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. This place is a gem. Lumi is an absolute must for anyone who appreciates thoughtful, flavorful cuisine, great wine and amazing service.

We made reservations for Lumi Rooftop after seeing it on a list of best Lisbon rooftops. There were ample reservations available when we made one three weeks before but the week before, they were completely booked so I'd recommend planning ahead. We unfortunately ended up dining here on a rainy day and ended up not getting to sit on the rooftop but the folks at Lumi communicated this to us ahead of time and asked if we were okay with an indoor seat. I appreciated the communication since I had been eyeing the forecast too. The indoor seating is nice (you can see the chefs cooking!) and they asked if we wanted to step out onto the rooftop since the rain had let up a bit and the views were gorgeous! In terms of food, we ordered the roasted codfish, green bean tempura, and pica-pau. Everything tasted great and was flavorful. The tempura was so good that we ordered it at another restaurant later in our trip. It was nice to get to try some more traditional Portuguese dishes that had been on our list.

Our experience at Lumi’s rooftop was nothing short of amazing! From the moment I started emailing them after I made the reservation because I wanted to inquire about a cake for my friends who were celebrating their birthdays, to when we finished our meal, the staff here did not miss a beat. Our reservation was at 9pm for 5 people on our last night in Lisboa. Our flight from Tenerife South was delayed so we had to push our reservation back. I emailed them and they swiftly responded letting me know that as long as we were there before 9:30pm, we were all set to go.

We arrived at 9pm and were greeted by the lovely hostess at the door. She was also my point of contact regarding the cake they were making for my friends. Unfortunately, it was raining so we could not sit outside, but the inside of the restaurant was just as cozy and quaint. Our waitress came over with a complimentary glass of champagne for the table and took our drink orders. I opted for a mocktail and my friends got the mojito and sangria (I think). Now, it was time for food and here’s what we got: spicy chicken wings (7/10) -pica-cau (7/10) -portobello mushroom burger (10/10) -roasted octopus (9/10) -oxtail croquette (7.5/10) -spicy garlic king prawn (9/10) -crispy swordfish bao (10/10— the kitchen closed and we begged the chef to make us another one. That’s how good it was)

So as you can see, we made sure to try everything on the menu, for the most part. The food was amazing, the service was impeccable, and the ambience was so inviting. Also, the cake they made for my friends was so cute and we got to share it with some other patrons in the restaurant. We had such an amazing time here that I’m going to make it a mission of mine to recommend this restaurant to everyone who is...

Great vibe both indoor and outdoor. The host was a bit of a brave smart-alec, I'm not sure everyone will recognize the sarcasm with an international audience.

The rooftop was full and everyone was sitting out there. People only sat inside for a drink while they waited to be seated outside. We were one of those guests.

We ordered our drinks but were left alone for a while and couldn't order the food as quickly as I would have liked. We had to wave a server down to order some food.

While we were eating, the host asked if we still wanted to sit outside. Which we did. So he helped us move outside.

I ordered the roasted octopus and my other half ordered the burger. The fries with the burger were very good. My octopus was good/interesting. I don't have a lot of experience with octopus, but it was a little rubbery.

I ordered the Lumi Negroni, which I don't think tasted similar to a Negroni. But a ginny-cinnamon drink, not sweet, very sophisticated. My other half ordered the cocktail of the month which featured ginja and pineapple - too sweet and pineappley in my opinion.

Later we ordered the Lumi After and Port Vintage. You couldn't taste the licour, only pineapple juice and a sweet lime juice. I wouldn't recommend these, unless you love sweet drinks and like drinking juice.

It was off to a good start but the last cocktails ruined my evening. 12 Euros for sweet juice is a waste of money.

For such a nice place, I was...

We enjoyed our experience at Lumi so much that we returned there a week later with friends. If you enjoy the original creations of an inspired chef, this restaurant is a nice break from many of the places that offer the same old dishes. The pea gazpacho is an original take on a favorite appetizer, with just the right amount of tart and crispness, complete with crunchy croutons and cubed cucumber. The bartender also makes drinks that appeal to the eye as much as to the taste buds, including non-alcoholic mocktails, as well as the more recognizable items on the classic cocktail bar roster. King prawns cooked in a spicy bisque make for a messy, but delicious main course. We had a difficult time getting a reservation with the website, but when we showed up for a table of four, the hostess sat us inside and after a little while found us a table outdoors. Certainly, on this rooftop restaurant, the views are fantastic, giving one the chance to see across Lisbon Harbor, or to look out onto the city's many levels. The wait staff were all professionals in hospitality, and the visit there was a pleasure for the senses, and a relaxing way to spend an evening with family at sunset. Very highly...
