Friends Bairro Alto — Restaurant in Lisbon

The security guy tried to charge me and not my two friends. Reason? After asking multiple times, we'll never know. We did make it in later on when another guy who turned out to be a bartender was at the door. We stepped out fot a smoke, the same "security" man would not let me in to retrieve my coat and jacket that wete inside without paying. Best of all he punched me out for insisting that I needed to get my personal items inside. This place is a travesty. Do not patronise them. It is crowded; overrated and some kind of man representing the place unequivocally stood behind their security man. I still question why I was treated how I was treated. I am a good, honest person. Very warm welcoming lgbtq+ club with great dj's very mixed crowed although mostly cis gay people I guess and the draft beer is good. Much better than I hoped for in Lisabon and for sure better than at most clubs in Barcelona. The staff is just fabulous. I've been having a great time there. This bar amongst many other things is why I higly recommend Lisbon as a travel destination within the lgbtq+ community in my country Iceland. Love and kisses ❤

Great place for midweek drinks before midnight. Inside is small but was popping when I visited and the music was a good mix of global and local hits. Service was a little slow but we didn’t wait more than 10 minutes for a drink. Prices slightly higher than expected (€18 for two gin and tonics) and while they have a system to get €1 back if you return your cup, the queues at the bar might deter you from actually getting it.
