Me and my wife, we're expecting much more than what we got. From the photos and reviews we were expecting big portions and good food. Unfortunately, we were let down. My wife ordered the Avocado with poached egg and me the Iranian eggs. My eggs we're bland and tasteless, the bread had more flavour than the eggs and the bread wasn't even that good. Additionally, my wife did not receive poached eggs. she got an overcooked egg and an extremely small portion of avocado and tomatoes. Although the waiters we're very nice and the atmosphere great, the tasteless food is too big of a thing to overlook. I would like to add that the matcha was extremely subpar, having lived in Japan for 5years and returning there every few years, I would like to say that I know a few things about a good matcha and this one was not it. I couldn't even taste the matcha, it left a bad taste in my mouth and was closer to water as a flavour than matcha, extremely disappointing.

Very cosy and authentic brunch experience in Lisbon. This is definitely a hidden gem because of the inner garden with an atmosphere like you sit on terrace at your uncleÊŒs house. What I definitely liked about the place is the interior and bakery — they are incomparable and make place worth visiting. Especially coconut bun — I’ve never tried anything like this. The dough and wet coconut kinda coulis is something. I can’t say I enjoyed Turkish eggs to the fullest as it had a little of yogurt and eggs were medium cooked, but I’m coming back to explore new dishes. As matcha addicted, I wouldn’t recommend ordering matcha with water as it’s not prepared the way it should, but there are many other options on the menu so that’s me who’s picky and with a special order. Also I must say the place is quite noisy and it feels like the team is in a rush that makes experience less enjoyable, but still I consider this place worth trying.

Small portions, high prices, terrible coffee that was watery, and had very dry milk froth (not like the photos of latte art). The dishes she had tasted just ok, nothing special which came as a surprise after seeing a review of @immigramtfoodie. None of the waiters ever came back to our table asked us if we needed anything more than what we initially ordered. What was a real turn-off though was being asked “how Much do you want to tip?” As the service was lacking I would have at least expected not to be asked for a tip, but instead a sense of entitlement took hold of some of the service staff. Needless to say we didn’t tip. If I feel like tipping I rather visit the US. All in all this place feels like the typical result of gentrification in Lisbon. Expensive for what you get, just ok value (coffee Was actually bad value), and free bad attitude. It’s sad, because the interior and very small patio area are beautiful.

Hello! With all the respect to Marquise as a great brunch place with good food and coffee and bread I must say I was very disappointed at the behaviour of the staff! First of all, they didn’t seem welcoming
When me and my friend came inside, we said hello, and the woman behind the counter without saying hello back just said “wear the mask”! My friend by mistake came in without mask, and I agree about the remark, but I’m disagree about the way. So we came inside and walked to find a place to sit and the waiter (young man), basically run after us and started to speak with us like we came to his house without invitation! He told us that we had to wait when he will come to us and speak with us and we don’t have to come in without asking! For no reason we were feeling attacked! If people can’t come inside of this cafe without permission, you should put a sign on the door saying “WAIT UNTIL THE HOST WILL COME TO YOU”.

With all the respect to the owner, this is not the first experience I have with ppl who works in Marquise. And to be honest behaviour of the staff always coming from the owner! I’m not blaming anyone. It is what it is. But when I’m coming inside the cafe, I want to feel welcomed and I want to see happy ppl! Unfortunately I will not come back to Marquise, instead I prefer to choose the place with respect behaviour to the guests.

I hope guests comments means something for you and something will be...

As a dedicated sourdough enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for bakeries that excel in crafting this beloved bread. Marquise Bakery immediately piqued our interest thanks to the enticing photos we had seen on their social media platforms. And I'm pleased to say, we were not disappointed.

We opted for two out of the four available sourdough options, and both were undeniably delicious. However, it's worth noting that one of the selections was slightly firmer in texture compared to the other. For those with sensitive teeth, I'd recommend communicating this preference to the staff, who I'm confident would be more than happy to assist you in selecting a softer bread option.

Overall, I highly recommend Marquise Bakery to anyone in search of exceptional sourdough bread. With its enticing array of options and commitment to quality, it's a haven for sourdough enthusiasts like myself. Whether you're a seasoned sourdough aficionado or simply looking to indulge in this delightful bread, Marquise Bakery is sure to satisfy...

Unfortunately, I would give them zero stars if it was possible. My friend was visiting me from France and I took her to Marquise for a beautiful first day in Lisbon, but we had the worst customer service experience ever. The moment we arrived the waitress almost made us order the first thing on the menu that we "asked a question" about because she said the kitchen was about to close. Then during the forty minutes that we stayed there she kept coming to our table to say something. First she jumped into our conversation out of the blue to make a joke, then she came to us two times to say they will close soon although we still had some time left to finish our food. When we asked if she was alright, she said she's tired and she wants to go home and sleep!! I'm reading comments about similar experiences I'm truly sorry to see that they are not respecting their customers enough to take care of this issue. Other than this, it's a beautiful cafe with a cosy back yard and good...
