Gui was exceptional in making a differently abled, Portuguese woman feel welcome in my dining experience. Upon walking in, since my disabilities are invisible, I get the age old "não çaes!" However, upon remaining patient and calm, I explain my çao es çao de assistência e I need him with me. I show the documents from my government & that my government even asked yours to allow my service dog to come in with all his health checks and microchip requirements met. I offer for the staff to greet the dog before we sit, as I understand his size can be a point of objection. He is a sweet, young dog and of the same breed as Hellen Keller's service dog, fun fact. While I do not suffer from the same conditions as such an exceptional woman in American history, I do still have my own struggles of which my service dog assists in alleviating. This restaurant was so kind and welcoming to me once we got the paperwork settled and did not treat me differently to a point of any discomfort and I thank them for that. I have been a bartender, waitress, receptionist, and hostess before. I understand the added work it takes to remain educated and kind toward a new or rare situation. This place made me feel very welcome and I will happily return to enjoy more food and wine again. Their staff know the wine and food options on memory alone and are very well suited to their roles. The atmosphere is awesome, except for the cigarrette smoke that comes in from the front doors and patio. It was quite overwhelming. I had some wonderful conversations with other travlers & needed that inclusion on Easter. A special thanks to all who made Tucker and I feel welcome, well fed, and well served. It is truly an art I can over appreciate. I hope I can continue to travel with my service dog and have more experiences like this one that make Tucker and I feel restored and refreshed! Make sure to bring your documents should you bring your service dog. Also, please note that it is also kid friendly and there were quite a few children running around playing with toy swords. If you have an aversion to that, perhaps find a spot away from the livelihood. We enjoyed it, as I do not have any kids of my own yet. 💛 Again, exceptional food and wine selection. Exceptional staff. Many kisses...
Read moreA hotel restaurant that has some great potential but was lacking a little in delivery. The setting itself is lovely with a good, if a little vacant atmosphere during our midweek visit. Nice outside bar terrace to compliment the interior.
The staff were courteous and generally attentive. The food however was not up to the standard expected for the price paid with some basics not satisfied.
With the bread and olives, there was a selection of bread rolls to choose from, however the bread appeared cooked from frozen, wasn't served warm and the butter and olives were straight from the fridge. Taste was generally pleasant but some minor tweaks would've gone further.
The starters were pleasant, we had a soup and the mixed bao buns. The boa buns tasted ok, but also didn't appear freshly prepared with the fillings for the three varieties (vegetable, ox and shrimp) all in similar preformed patties. Main course was also adequate but nothing special. The rice with the salted cod was a little overpowering for the dish with the mint and tomato a bit strong for the cod. The risotto
The menu itself was concise but of a good variety for the style of the restaurant. The cutlery, plating and crockery were all to a good standard and suited the environment.
With a few strong local contenders, it feels there's a bit of work to be done for the price of the dishes, but may have just been...
Read moreThe food was okay. I got the pesto pasta and it was a little lack luster. Being one of the only few tables sat, we asked for bread and they said they were out but making more and they would bring us some when it was ready. I noticed several tables receive bread but our server never brought our table any. The service was slow and unavailable. We waited way too long to get our orders in and then never saw the server again until we had to flag someone down to pay the bill. The atmosphere was nice...
