The staff was very friendly and the food just OK, but the prices are ridiculous.
The portions are like 3 tablespoons each thing, so for 12 euros you get the couscous (which was cold!), and a tiny bowl of garbanzo. 3 euros for a small coffee? They must think they're actually in Melbourne because it's too much for mediocre vegetarian food.
Lastly, my experience was very bad because there was a peruvian woman, maybe the boss? Being very rude to the staff in front of us customers. While she was all smiles to clients 2 secs later she'd be yelling stuff like "well you could've done it correctly but you didn't!!" "Who made this mistake?!" " why did you did that?" So, I was skeptical at first...but was quickly comforted by a delicious single shot. Brazilians, Joanna and her husband, opened Benjamin (named after their son) 6 months ago following a five year stint in Australia, and seemingly ONLY use Brazilian beans. The espresso was perfect - bright, fruity, balanced - pulled off a work-horse La Marzocco Linea EE. I could not have asked for anything more. I wish them the best, and look forward to a stop at Benjamin on my next...
