O João — Restaurant in Lisbon

A local place for locals, with excellent local food at local rates. That said, in case you are not a local, bear in mind Don Joao doesn't speak other language than his own, the local one (and he doesn't give a flying shite about it). He works a lot to feed so many folks every day and he does it quickly and professionally IMHO....

It's one of the best non-touristic places for portugese home food in Lisbon. Opened just a few hours per day. There is a real challenge to get there, but its totally worth it if you make it in.
