We visited this place on Friday night, July 19th, at around 20:30. We asked the person at the front door if there were any tables outside. He said no but mentioned that if we wanted to sit inside, he would move us outside when a table became available. We agreed and took a table inside. He spoke to a waiter about us in Italian, which we did not understand.
Half an hour later, while we were eating, we noticed that the outside bar was empty. We asked him if we could move there, but he said the bar was reserved for ten people. We accepted this and kindly reminded him not to forget about us. He assured us, “No worries.” (By the way, those ten people never arrived.)
While eating, we observed two different parties, who had no reservations, being seated outside. After an hour and a half, a group of ladies sat next to our table, and I overheard the front door person telling them, “There is an available table outside if you want to sit.” I immediately asked him, “We have been waiting for an outside table for 1.5 hours. We saw you seat three groups, including these ladies, while we were waiting. Why are you doing this?” He responded with an arrogant attitude, “Yes, my mistake, you can go now.” I declined and said we wanted to leave, then asked for the complaints book (Livro) to file a complaint.
They brought the book, the bill, and still asked for a tip! Come on, at least an apology!
Please, if you encounter such an attitude or have any other complaints about restaurants in Portugal, ask for the Livro. I am not sure if i filled it correctly because i was so upset and wanted to leave immediately. I will also fill it online through this website: https://www.livroreclamacoes.pt I live in Lisbon, and this was the first time I asked for the Livro, but this is a serious issue. He never forgot about us; he was always passing by and ignoring us. I really don’t know what his problem is. He didn’t even apologize. Don’t let this person treat anyone else this way. Lisbon is full of welcoming and nice restaurants with friendly owners. You don’t need to go to this place with its mediocre food and expensive wine. This place simply does...
Read moreTo be honest this review is a little bit difficult to write because I like this place but there are just to many things here that simply ruin the experience.
Let’s start with the good. There is a large wine selection with interesting labels from all over Europe. The staff is helpful and nice. Shout out to Chicha who made our experience. We had a really nice lentils dish that I recommended to anyone visiting.
The main problem here is that there are so many tables and so little staff that it took us 45 minutes to get a beer from the tap and another 30 minutes to get our wine. And trying to get a servers attention to order anything else is seemingly impossible if you want to be polite. When we arrived (with reservation)we still had to wait 25 minutes to be seated.
4 out of 5 of the dishes we ordered were poor for many reasons that are unnecessary to detail here.
The bottom line is that yes this place is a great vibe and has so many things going for it but it still lacks basic service to make the experience a good one.
If you find yourself here enjoy and find an extra measure...
Read moreI was very excited to go to this place as it was recommended by my friends. I should have made a reservation, which was on me. However, the service was a bit dismissive and rude. The host/server let us know there was a wait, so we seated ourselves at the bar as suggested by him. We were under the impression we would be seated when a space became available but there wasn’t a system in place from what we were able to gather an hour and a half later. The bartender was kinder and more responsive than the rest of the staff.
We ordered a few dishes and were informed one of them was unavailable only at the very end when we asked if it was coming. The food was good although the temperature was not consistent between the dishes or within the components of some plates. Good wine selection and playlist. Lots of noise inside, so if sensitive to sound, I suggest sitting outside and...
