Title: A Disappointing Experience at Lisbon's Skybar: A Dress Code Debacle
I recently traveled all the way from Los Angeles to experience the renowned Skybar in Lisbon, expecting a glamorous rooftop oasis with breathtaking views. Unfortunately, my visit turned out to be a complete letdown as I was denied entry based on what I was wearing. It is disheartening that my summer-appropriate attire was deemed inadequate for this supposedly inclusive establishment.
Upon arriving at the Skybar, I was immediately greeted by a host who, rather than welcoming me warmly, bluntly informed me that I was not dressed appropriately for the venue. I was wearing a pair of colorful shorts and a well-fitted, stylish t-shirt, which, in my opinion, perfectly matched the vibe of a rooftop bar in the summer. However, it seems that the staff at the Skybar had their own subjective standards of fashion.
While I understand the need for certain establishments to enforce a dress code to maintain a particular atmosphere, the level of exclusivity exhibited by the Skybar was utterly unwarranted. It is worth mentioning that the establishment did not provide any clear guidelines regarding their dress code on their website or at the entrance, leaving visitors like me in a state of confusion.
The frustrating part of this experience was not just the denial of entry but the complete lack of empathy and understanding exhibited by the staff. Instead of offering alternative solutions or suggestions, they dismissively brushed me off, leaving me feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. As a visitor from another country, I expected to be treated with a modicum of respect and courtesy, regardless of my attire.
This incident reflects poorly on the Skybar's commitment to customer satisfaction and inclusivity. If a venue insists on enforcing such a strict dress code, it is imperative that they clearly communicate it to their potential customers to avoid such disappointing encounters. Sadly, the Skybar failed miserably in this regard.
I cannot recommend the Skybar in Lisbon to anyone, especially to those who value individual expression and freedom in their choice of attire. Traveling from Los Angeles to be turned away based on my looks was an extremely disheartening experience, and I can only hope that the establishment reconsiders its draconian policies and adopts a more welcoming and transparent approach in the future.
Save yourself the disappointment and avoid the Skybar. There are numerous other establishments in Lisbon where you can enjoy stunning views and a vibrant atmosphere without being subjected to arbitrary and unwelcoming dress...

If you’re thinking of checking out Seen in Thane, do yourself a favor and don’t.
From the second we arrived, the vibe was trash. Two bouncers downstairs plus a woman at the door — all cold, rude, and acting like we were a problem just for showing up. One bouncer sat behind a computer, giving off old British villain energy, just staring us down. We told them we had a reservation — no response, no acknowledgment. Just dead eyes.
Elevator finally comes, we get upstairs, and it somehow gets worse. The reservation? Completely messed up. They stuck us outside even though the place was empty. No one came to take drink orders properly. They took orders for half the table and then disappeared. When they finally came back, it was just to tell us we could move inside — and even after that, the service was nonexistent.
We finally got a server again, who told us drinks would take another hour. Out of the five beers listed on the menu, they were already out of two, including Corona — so three lame options were left. Joke of a bar for a "high-end" place.
Most of us ordered steaks. Mine was supposed to be medium rare. A few bites in, and it tasted off — but I didn’t realize just how bad it was until later. Heavy, heavy food poisoning. Full-body shutdown level. I wasn’t alone — almost everyone at our table ended up sick. It ruined the entire night, and the next day.
And if you’re wondering about the crowd? Unless you’re looking to throw 800 euros on a bill to be surrounded by bored-looking hookers and zero real atmosphere, don’t bother.
Seen? More like Should’ve Stayed Home.
Overpriced, overrated, and...
