An ENTIRE DELICIOUS grilled CHICKEN (one of their specialties), WITH potatoes FRENCH FRIES (very crisp, delicious and not greasy at all) ... AND a drink! for ONLY €10???!!! You can't beat that! It was LOVE at first BITE. 😁
The chicken takes some time to cook, maybe around 30 minutes, but the wait is totally worth it. It's so juicy, full of flavor, crispy and perfectly cooked. I went back 2 days later for another chicken.
We also ordered the falafel wrap meal, also with fries and a drink, for only €5. I grew up eating falafel at home, so I know good falafel when I eat it. One of the best I've eaten at a restaurant. I do prefer it with the dressing sauce on the side instead of mixed in the wrap, to have the original home style taste. I also like that they add a lot of salad inside the wrap with the falafel.
I only have one more day left in Portugal, but I will definitely come back to this family owned restaurant, on my next trip to Lisbon, Graça area, to try the rest of the menu, especially the rices and curry dishes, etc... They even have all kinds of pizzas, pastas, burgers and much more...Something for everyone.
The entire staff is very kind and helpful, including the owner Shahedur Rahman, which has a sweet and cute little daughter that was playing around in the back of the dining area with her mother watching over her, to make sure she didn't get in any trouble. :) It was adorable to watch and it made the experience even more enjoyable.
The rest of the staff, including the cooks deserve a special mention too, because they are all extraordinarily good at what they do. I asked for their names too. I hope I spell them correctly: Mohammad Rasheed Mohammad Yamin Mohammad Mortuz.
Thanks to all of them for a great experience. I'm going to miss the great food and service
Sincerely,
Nabil R. My only complaint was that the bathroom needed a little more constant attention when it's busy with customers. Other than that, everything was...
Read moreI dropped by this place near my hotel and looked for some food filled with spice flavour. I ordered chicken Tikka masala, garlic naan, and matar paneer.
If you are a fan of Indian food and have tried many places across the globe you will know these dishes were not authentic at all. Let me explain my given stars here.
I came from a country that has very authentic indian food. Chicken Tikka malasa is supposed to feel the flavour of spices. So far, this is so sweet, not from cashew nuts but from sugar I could tell. It was even more sweet than authentic chicken butter which didn't sound right to me.
Matar Paneer- the cottage cheese was so hard I didn't know if they fried or baked it but it made harder to chew and destroyed paneer texture.
Garlic naan- I didn't feel the garlic in the naan I thought they used garlic powder I stead of raw garlic that's what made the naan so tasteless.
This place seems popular with the quick meal but not for authentic indian food. If you are looking for the authentic one just skip the place. I paid €18 euro for this which was very expensive. I could get best Indian food with this price somewhere else.
Stars were given because of staff's hospitalit. For that reasons, two stars. But for Indian food not...
Read moreMy fiancé and I was searching for some dinner in the Alfama area. However, our experience for dinner there left a lot to be desired. Long story short, terribly poor service and by the next morning, my fiancé was sick from the food.
When we placed our order, we asked to take our food to go, but I indicated to the server/cashier (who also seemed to be the owner) that we would eat some of it before we left. He probably didn’t understand that but either way, he was very rude about it when my fiancé took a tray to put our food on before we sat down to eat. The same server said very loudly that he didn’t understand why we asked for takeout when we were having it there. We were just shocked at the rudeness of that comment. After we explained that we were eating some of the food, the server along with another guy who was helping him to prepare the food just stared hard and long at us.
I must say it was a huge turn-off for us and we will never go back there. Notwithstanding the terrible service, the chicken in the biryani was stiff to the point of being almost inedible and although my fiancé enjoyed his doner kebab, he was throwing up by the next morning....
