My Thai, Vilamoura – A Warm Welcome to Thai Flavours Our first Thai food experience in Vilamoura brought us to My Thai, and we’re glad it did! Tucked away with a welcoming and polished ambiance, this restaurant instantly made a great first impression. The staff were incredibly polite and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, with plenty of seating indoors and a few tables available outside for those who prefer dining al fresco. One of the first things we noticed was how clean and well-presented the place was—everything felt thoughtfully arranged and well-maintained, which added to the overall appeal. We were pleasantly surprised to receive two complimentary mini vegetable samosas shortly after being seated—a lovely touch that set the tone for the rest of our meal. The samosas were light, tasty, and a great little teaser for what was to come. For starters, we went with the spring rolls, which arrived crisp, golden, and full of flavor. Definitely a highlight! However, we did notice that the crackers served were more reminiscent of Chinese-style prawn crackers rather than authentic Thai ones, which was a minor letdown. That said, the accompanying dip more than made up for it—flavorful and well-balanced. Moving on to mains, the Pad Thai didn’t disappoint. It came in a generous portion, well-cooked noodles, and a sauce that had that slightly sweet, tangy, and nutty character you hope for. The wings, while not as spicy as expected, were tender and came topped with fried onions and a delicious marinated sauce, adding an extra depth of flavor. Final Thoughts: My Thai manages to bring a taste of Thailand to Vilamoura with style and heart. While a couple of small tweaks (like authentic Thai crackers) could elevate the experience further, everything else—from the warm service to the flavors and presentation—makes it a solid choice. If you’re in Vilamoura and craving Thai food, this place will absolutely hit the spot. Definitely...
Read moreI have been to this place before and also given them a Tripadvisor review of 5* in the past which I have now removed due to the disgusting behaviour of one of their staff - perhaps she was the management as she would have been grant off if any superiors were there.
This was the day of my 50th birthday where we had booked a table outside. My table was given to someone else but we were fine about this and requested a table near the window. When we turned up even that table had been given away.
Ok, that was even fine. We ordered our drinks and I ordered soda water with my white wine. I asked if they served it and she said yes. And another waitress gave me sparkling water. Water and wine? No thanks. So I asked them to change it for soda water. The lady who took the order came to me and kicked up a fuss and said “this is what the ENGLISH order”. How rude and racist was this comment?
By this time things aren’t looking great for us to remain in the restaurant. Well, we aren’t English so my husband told her “do we look English to you?”
We then asked to leave the restaurant and she defended we pay for the prawn crackers and drinks - which we didn’t even touch!
I was appalled by the behaviour. Being in the travel business we always recommend this place, but absolutely not anymore. None of my family, friends or customers are going there again!!
We didn’t pay for them, of course we...
Read moreUnfortunately our last night in Portugal was soured by awful service and food that was lacking in specific areas. I ordered the massaman curry - vegetables and tofu but to my dismay there were little to no vegetables. I had a approximately two wedges of potato and several large chunks of onion. Lucky for me the tofu was in abundance or else the meal would have simply been sauce and rice. When I asked about what vegetables were to come with the meal, the waitress said broccoli but then quickly took that statement back and said oh not with your meal. I asked again and said why did the menu offer vegetables with my meal if none were provided - she spoke in a different tongue to her colleague and I never received a proper response.
The service was abysmal, we were shoved in a corner right beside the door, feeling the cool marina breeze everytime the door opened. After our plates were cleared it was like we were forgotten about, we waited approximately 20+ minutes to be asked if we wanted the regular tea, coffee, dessert or the cheque - in the end we got fed up of being ignored and asked for the bill.
Redeeming features: the tofu was cooked quite well and the Pad...
