Spicy Gastropub — Restaurant in Loulé

I went with my family yesterday evening for a meal whilst we were at the marina. We came across this place and the menu looked good and reasonably priced so we decided to eat here. I ordered the prawn pad thai, my mum ordered pork pad krapow and my aunt and grandmother ordered the prawn and monkfish skewers. I went back to our apartment earlier than my family as I wasn’t feeling well and they stayed at the marina in the bars. I proceeded to experience sickness and diarrhoea all night. I got food poisoning from this restaurant, and I have had to spend all night and day in my apartment on holiday vomiting and going to the toilet because of this. Luckily no one else in my family had this reaction so they can still enjoy their holiday but I would not recommend going here unless you want to end up how I did.

The service at the restaurant wasn’t great, we felt rushed to order and leave. I had asked for a Coke from one of the waiters and he never brought my order so we had to ask another waiter 20 minutes later. My mum said the pork with her pad krapow dish was extremely tough and you couldn’t cut it, it had no flavour and wasn’t spicy at all. Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend I had high hopes for this restaurant, but sadly, the visit was quite disappointing. We were shown a specials menu and told about a 2-for-1 cocktail offer, only to be informed after ordering that the cocktails we chose weren’t actually part of the deal. This felt misleading and set a frustrating tone for the evening.

The food itself was mediocre, and the overall hygiene was concerning. There were flies around the dining area, and we noticed food left out on the counter, attracting seagulls — incredibly unhygienic and off-putting. For the quality of the food and the experience, the bill was surprisingly expensive. I strongly advise checking prices carefully before ordering, as the final bill was not only high but also confusing when presented.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place. There are plenty of other restaurants that offer better food, clearer pricing, and a cleaner, more...

Made the mistake of stopping here for a snack. Choose the nachos at €7.95.

The corn chips themselves were rather boring with the sauces served in ramekins and not smothered over them. No cheese or sour cream 😢. The quantity of corn chips well out numbered the quantity of sauce so we asked for more sauce thinking it wouldn't be too much to ask for.

When the bill arrived we saw we were charged an additional €3.50 each for two extra sauces we received. Nearly the price of the entire nachos dish. Silly me thinking that it would be complimentary as good customer service.

I understand they are a business but very small minded as we intended going back for dinner.

Definitely won't be back there again.
