If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I have never written a review in my life but felt the need to warn others not to attend this restaurant. I ordered the cod fish with potatoes. The potatoes were as hard as concrete and the fish was as salty as the owners attitude. After I politely explained to the owner that the dish was inedible, the owner started hitting her hands together exclaiming that “this is why English people shouldn’t order Portuguese food. It’s only meant for Portuguese people”. In shock, I told her that I have had this fish many times and it has never tasted this salty. Prior to eating this, I had been swimming in the sea and had accidentally swallowed sea water which wasn’t as salty as this dish. My sister’s “sea bass fillet with a boat of champagne sauce” came wrong twice, and was so salty she had compared it to cat food. Then to my actual shock horror when the bill came, they had charged for the “complimentary” bread rolls which they put on the table at the beginning. 12.50 euros extra? The “singer” was so loud that even the waiters couldn’t hear our orders and to communicate, we would have to scream. I actually came out with a banging headache. I wish this restaurant could be on an episode of Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares as I think it would be really funny. The only thing I enjoyed about this meal was writing this review. Bill came to 160 euros and when questioned, we received another bill for 112. Not sure why they added an extra 50 euros… probably an addition charge for breathing...

We booked for a party of 14 over a month ago. When we turned up for our meal at the allotted time of 9pm we were told they were too busy to seat us and we would have to wait 30minutes, the manager asked us to go to the bar next door and she would come and get us when they were read, 50 minutes later we returned as we had not been called an were finally seated to find our party had been split over 2 tables. We complained about this and the fact we had such a wait and nobody came to get us and they sorted the seating situation out. The meal came and on the whole everyone was happy, I had calamari that was a little over done, the fillet steak was not the best cut but tasty. The chips tasted like fish (obviously cooked in the same oil as the battered fish). When the bill came we found that the bread they had given us when we were seated was charged for (we thought it was complementary due to the issues) we refused to pay for the chips as they were not eaten as people didn’t like fish. When we made it clear that the way the bread was served we thought it was complimentary and the chips tasted of fish on top of the long delay and the split party we were met with some resistance before they decided to credit the bread and chips. Overall the experience felt rushed, and like were an inconvenience, they were not very customer focussed. I would avoid...

Went here for a quick lunch and it was quiet. Staff were friendly and quick to bring us drinks and couvert (tuna pate and fresh bread was one of the nicest we had in Vilamoura). We ordered 3 toasted sandwiches and the prawn sandwich in the photo. The toasted sandwiches were a bit overpriced at 8 euro, the prawn sandwich at 9.50 was very good though, including large tasty prawns and avocado with a nice sauce. Came with 3 slices of bread which is not explained on menu. Unfortunately things got busy at this stage and service took a nose dive. It was very warm and we'd young kids with us so asked for more water fairly soon after finishing the first bottle. The waitress I asked was very grumpy, no smile and never came back to us. We'd finished our food before another waiter brought the water and apologised a few times for the delay. We then had to wait again to get anyone's attention to ask for the bill. 2 out of 3 staff members were very friendly and really doing their best, but the place is clearly understaffed. Would have been a much better experience if we had received water sooner and if we had been able to pay bill...

Gorgeous food, hectic atmosphere. This restaurant is packed every night and after having a meal there I understand why - the food is great. We ordered a truffle pasta and carbonara and they were both amazing! They arrived piping hot and fresh in these gorgeous deep bowls that kept the food warm while you ate. We had a lovely meal but the atmosphere is quite hectic. The tables are crammed in so you’re extremely close to the people next to you and it’s hard to move around, especially because staff would carve steaks at tables which they just don’t have room to do. We saw a couple try to come in with a pram and they had to leave again because it wouldn’t fit down the narrow space between tables. I couldn’t fault the food and the service was good, but it wasn’t a relaxing atmosphere and we didn’t hang around long when we were finished.

We went to News on our visit to the marina in Vilamoura. We were greeted by friendly staff and while it was very busy and we didn’t have a reservation were shown to a table reasonably quickly in the restaurant. Our host was excellent and made myself and my wife feel at home from the start. The servers and staff were very knowledgeable about the drinks and food menus and we were happily guided to our choice of beverage and meal. The perfectly cooked medium rare T-Bone steak was the finest I have ever eaten and the New Zealand Lamb Chops were unreal. Drinks and cocktails were top quality and to end the evening we went across to the open air bar area to take in the picturesque marina at sunset. Will return on our next visit, highly recommended !
