Recommended from the crown Plaza hotel. As it was our first time in Vilamora we were excited to try the restruants at the marina. I decided to call the day of to confirm my reservation via hotel phone and was told it was for 8:30pm. After talking to the guy on the phone explicitly trying to confirm it was not for 6:30pm which i was told it wasn't i was a bit confused. Me and my party of 6 show up at 8:30pm to be greeted by a hostile host who insisted we had missed our reservation for 6:30pm! Beyond frustrated and telling them I called in during lunch time to confirm the reservation and being told a different time on the phone I was already quite annoyed. Rui if that was even his name was very unfriendly and very confrontational insisting he was there during lunch and no one called the restruant during that time. I was i little confused as he was shifting accountability that apparently it was on me the customer who was in the wrong lol. Definitely great customer service blaming the foreign customer who was told the wrong information. Instead of trying to find a solution decided to do absolutely nothing and stand there in awkward silence. Anyway thankfully in portugual there are so many seafood places we were able to find another place to indulge in. I think I'll pass on this place as I didn't even make it to my table lol. O Cesteiro is an outstanding fish restaurant in Vilamoura that offers delicious seafood dishes and an exceptional dining experience. The restaurant's location is perfect, just a short walk from the marina, and the decor is simple yet elegant, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

I don’t recommend this place. As you can see, it’s very expensive and the quality isn’t worth it. We honestly felt cheated, we didn’t verified the price from the bill with the menu, but we’re sure that for only 2 people it’s not possible to pay: 73€ for 1 fish, 45 € for 0,6grams of salmonetes (this means 100€/1kg?? Honestly we didn’t saw that price on the board/menu) The fried squid weren’t fresh, they tasted like chewing gum and were cold. The prawns were also super small and had lots of oil... For our reservation we asked for a good table and when we arrived they gave us a small one. When we wanted to change they told us it was “reserved”, lie!!
