Café da Praça — Restaurant in Matosinhos

We came to Matosinhos as travelers. Our accommodation was near this cafe. On the first day of our arrival, this cafe was the first place we found for lunch. Considering the good reviews it had on Google, we decided to give it a try. We ordered a hamburger, but unfortunately, it was nearly raw, of poor quality, and tasteless. The price was excessively high for such poor-quality food compared to a lot of good places to eat in the city.

This seemingly luxurious place left us with a particularly bad impression, especially when, a few nights later, from the balcony of our accommodation, we witnessed several people from this cafe throwing a poor, weak, thin, and probably addicted young man onto the street (not sure who those people were, customers, cafe security, or employees, it was at late night). They beat him on the grass near the fountain and humiliated him by driving him away.

It is absolutely not worth spending your money in a place that humiliates and abuses vulnerable individuals with luxurious and boastful arrogance. If you look closely, there are many other cafes on this street that deserve your patronage far more. During our short stay, we noticed a cafe on the opposite side of the street serving sandwiches every morning to the same poor, weak and suffering young man, a genuine act of humanity and compassion that should be the duty of all people, citizens and passersby.

Overall, I do not recommend this cafe. It didn't offer us good food at a reasonable price. Even if it had, humanity is...

A bar that shares such important library building, both in terms of proximity and architectural/urbanistic importance, should not have music of a kind that leaks bass or leaks anything at all. Not only due to disturbance, but mainly taste, class, solemnity and most of all, adequacy i.e. to combine and enhance the potential of charm and functionality. As it is it doesn't match.
