I recently had the pleasure of dining at a fantastic restaurant and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way! From the moment I stepped in, I was warmly greeted by the friendly and accommodating staff who made me feel right at home.
The food was absolutely delicious - every dish I tried was bursting with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. The chef clearly knows their craft and puts a lot of care and attention into each and every dish. I particularly enjoyed the seafood pasta, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection.
But what really stood out to me was the exceptional service. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations, and his friendly demeanor made our dining experience all the more enjoyable. He even went out of his way to check on us throughout the meal, ensuring that everything was to our liking.
One thing that really impressed me about this restaurant was the great selection of gluten-free options on their menu. As someone with a gluten sensitivity, I'm always a bit wary when dining out, but the restaurant had so many delicious gluten-free dishes to choose from that I felt spoiled for choice. From gluten-free pasta to perfectly cooked steak with gluten-free sides, I was blown away by the variety and quality of the gluten-free options. It's clear that the restaurant takes great care in catering to all their diners' dietary needs, and I appreciate the effort they put into making sure everyone can enjoy their meals without worry. This added attention to detail only added to my already positive experience at the restaurant, and I can confidently say that this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for a great gluten-free dining experience.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. The food is outstanding, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I can't wait to come back and try more of the delicious dishes...
Read moreTraveling with Celiac's can be an adventure. My wife and I recently traveled to Portugal - our first international trip since becoming gluten-free. A few quick searches for GF restaurants in the Porto area all mentioned Sergio Crivelli's, so we put it on the list of restaurants to try.
Sergio Crivelli's is located in Matosinhos - an area outside Porto more known for its seafood than gluten free cooking. The restaurant is a short walk from the Matosinhos Sul station on the blue line, but all things considered you're probably better off reaching it using an Uber or taxi.
The food at Sergio's is great. The gluten free pasta and pizzas are excellent - Sergio recently won a gold-medal in Italy at the gluten-free Pizza contest. And they take their GF preparation seriously - separate kitchens for GF prep, and all GF pizzas are placed on individual trays for cooking.
We ordered the homemade crostini for dessert, and were so impressed that we asked - only half seriously - if we could have the recipe. This led to an extended conversation with Sergio himself, who is now 73, but still comes by the restaurant to cook. He was a charming host, and we both enjoyed listening to his story. We enjoyed our experience so much that we came back a second night before we left town.
Whether you're gluten free or not, this is a place you can feel good about supporting. The food is good, the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, and the prices are more than reasonable. Yes, it's a bit out of the way if you're staying in the city center, but if you're looking for a GF restaurant, it's more than...
Read moreFrom start to finish, it was a pleasure dining here. We took my mom there on her birthday (and last night in Portugal), and were blown away.
The decor is fantastic-it is classy and understated. This is a nice restaurant that is equal bits classy and cozy.
The food is incredible. Between three guests, we had an appetizer, bolognese pasta, spinach/ricotta ravioli, and the third, which I can’t remember the name of, was the pasta finished off at the table in a big wheel of cheese. Each was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. The portions were just enough to fill us just beyond being full and not leave us in pain from overeating.
Best of all was the service. The waiters were all attentive and friendly, but the highlight for us was certainly that Sergio, himself, was there talking to guests and overseeing the kitchen. He had stories to tell when he came over to our table and spent time explaining how he sources his ingredients from Italy. He gave us shots of lemoncello to close out the meal and even sent us home with bags of uncooked pasta for us to indulge in later.
If you are looking for a nice place to share a meal with family, friends, or coworkers, this is it....
