Restaurante Arimar — Restaurant in Nazaré

The views from this restaurant are phenomenal! We got there at noon, when they opened with no reservation and we were able to sit outside under the umbrellas. We started with an appetizer of fresh cheese (queijo fresco), bolinho de bacalhau and shrimp. The lunch we had was fantastic! We had a liter of their homemade wine split a dourada and there was PLENTY of food. The fish was perfectly cooked and the sides were very tasty as well. I would recommend their homemade white wine! We don't normally get dessert, we splurged and I got the homemade chocolate mousse with a shot of whiskey on top and hubs got their homemade caramel pudding with a shot of whiskey on it as well. We visited this restaurant 2 days in a row. At first glance, it may look very touristy. In reality, you can get first-class food for a very competitive price there. We ordered octopus rice (my personal favorite), seafood rice and fish stew. All 3 dishes were fresh, flavourful and rich. Both rice pots were more than enough for 3 people. The staff serves you a set of starters without asking. It costs about 8-9 Euro which is still okay but you could also skip them all. The restaurant has 2 locations. The one on the cliff side provides you a good view, but it can be very hot and noisy. We prefer the one on the right side...

Great spot for fresh seafood with a pretty nice view over nazaré if you catch a seat on the terrace. We got a turbot catch-of-the-day which was delicious and perfect to share for 2 people. Grilled seafood skewers looked also outstanding. Service is a bit slow though and we found the starters being directly put on the table, and probably transferred to the next in case of non-consumption, a bit weird (hygiene?).
