Just dinned here and everything was good the service was fast and the staff very nice and helpful. The prices are very fair, you can eat very well for around 15eu and they have a good variety of local specialties and other dishes. I preferred some grilled meat for dinner (it was a very hot summer night so I didn't want anything too hot and heavy) and ordered a skewer of grilled picanha with shrimp and homemade fries. It was heavenly! The meat was the medium-rare I asked for and super tender and juicy with the toasted fat giving it lots of flavour and the shrimps were very big and delicious. Read moreI have been here for many years and liked the restaurant very much. Today we went again into Ria Formosa:
Standing at the entrance no one offered a table, we were just ignored. Waiters passed us, nearly moved us away. Had to grab a waiter and ask for a table. The waiter put olives and butter on the table as usual, but no bread. We had to ask 3 times for bread until we got some. Glass of house wine: the red wine had 30 degrees, the white wine is sparkling - who ever likes that. As a starter we ordered Polvo Salat, but were told it is not available. Ordered chorizo then, which came at the same time as the main dish. As main dish we ordered Ameijoas - got again the info it is not available. Sole not available as well. Same again, had to look for something else - why does the waiter not inform, what is available and what not? So I went to the fish cabinet - no one came to help or take the order. Even after asking for help I had to wait again - the fish I selected has then not been taken out of the cabinet, I just got the same kind out of the kitchen. The fish itself was charred, my wife returned it.
So absolutely not acceptable, arrogant and unfriendly - what a pitty and what a weak...
Read moreI've not had to walk out of a restaurant in a long time before trying have lunch here today and failing. The waiter brought out the wrong main dish for me. Looked and smelled great, but not what I had ordered. I notified the waiter and asked for the correct dish, not a big deal. But then the waiter avoided us, wouldn't come to the table or make eye contact. Time passed, waiting for my replacement dish and for my wife's main dish, neither of which ever arrived. Three tables that had arrived after us were served their food. In the end we left 20€ to cover our beverages and one (of two) side plates that had arrived, as well as to avoid whatever accusations about not paying and walked out. The place was probably 3/4 full, sounded mostly local, so it must be good in some way. Maybe we were treated poorly as tourists? Regardless, an...
