Surfers Lodge Restaurant — Restaurant in Peniche

The place is great. Very family friendly. If you have kids you will enjoy your meal and the kids will enjoy the space. Loads of games and toys to keep them occupied. The food is good and well presented. The only downside (for me) was the bottled water. It came in a reusable bottle ( with lodge logo ) that you could see that it wasn’t sealed and in my case the interior of the cap wasn’t 100% clean. There was some flies flying about attracted to the salmon we ordered, but I’m certain that that was just a one time situation and concentrated to the area my self and my family where siting. I didn’t find evidence elsewhere in the restaurant. In the future I believe that an insect control system will be installed. In the future I may visit again with my family and tryout the hotel. The Restaurant is going for that upmarket look, with an upmarket price to match, but unfortunately they fall short on the quality of the food and basic food safety requirements. I couldn't eat my main tonight as they served the pork raw ...and I don't mean rare , I mean raw! When the waiter collect the plates and asked how was the meal, I explained i couldn't eat it as the pork was raw. I wasn't offer a refund or an apology but still got charged all the same . If I was back home I wouldn't have accepted it, but I'm on holiday so just chalked it as a loss and obviously wouldn't eat here again. Do yourself a favour and swerve this place . Is much better Restaurants around the area that are almost half the price but with great quality food...

We have been here many times to eat. The food is great, really five star. We gave them one star only because last time we were very disappointed by the staff. We had glass of wine and little dessert. The restaurant was almost empty, just us and max. 2 other tables. After we drank the wine, we thought we would have another, but nobody came to us for about an hour, even when they saw our empty glasses on our table, they were just passing around as we were ghosts. This is very disappointing for us, even when their food is awesome, their staff is highly unprofessional and they should do...
