Apito Dourado — Restaurant in Ponta Delgada

Just had dinner here today (May 5, 2022). I honestly said we liked our experience and recommend the restaurant for you.

Pros: Great location, just few minutes by walking from city center of Ponta Delgada. They sell Portuguese food with various menu. The price is cheap. We spent €13,30 for both. The portion is enough. I ordered fried fish with potatoes and salad, it is good. My partner ordered prego. It is good too, the meat is thick. The staffs are friendly, nice, and attentive. Free wifi. Free restroom. Dine-in, take away, but no delivery. You must try the fish soup. It is so tasty. They accept payment in cash. Live football match on TV while eating. The restaurant is not so big but have several tables.

Cons: The service took a little bit slower. The bife of prego was too salty. They need to reduce the quantity of salt. They should ask the customers first if we want a fried or boiled potatoes. Honestly I am not into boiled potatoes, but I...

We had dinner at Apito Dourado and the food was delicious. The service was great, our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We had the fresh cheese, the soup of the day, two plates of chicken fillets with fries, two waters and a dessert to share and paid 28 euros. Overall great value for money. The place had a very local feel, it's very simple but worth it. We will definitely return to try other dishes. Four days of my holidays in Ponta Delgada I have been to many restaurants with high rates, above 4,7. Waited in a queue for 30 min in each especially during the dinner time. And on the 4th day I found this snack bar Apito Dourado. I took tuna steak two time, soups of the day. Everything was very delicious. And the service was excellent.
