This is a gem - and truly the best food experience we had in Portugal. Not fancy, but simple food amazingly prepared in an unpretentious, family style way. We had whelks in white bean soup, lamb stew, and shepherds pie. All were out of this world. On a scale of one to ten, our elementary schools age kids gave it “a billion.” The staff (owners?) were kind, attentive, and went out of their way to help us and make us feel welcomed and comfortable.
