⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Must-Visit Indian Gem in Portimão!
Indian Papadum is hands down one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve visited in the Algarve. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome — friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about their food.
The menu offers a fantastic variety of traditional Indian dishes, all bursting with authentic flavours. We especially loved the butter chicken and the lamb rogan josh — both cooked to perfection. The papadums with chutneys were the perfect start, crisp and flavourful. Their naan breads were soft, warm, and fresh from the tandoor.
Portions were generous and prices very reasonable, especially considering the quality. The ambiance is relaxed yet elegant, making it great for both casual dinners and special occasions.
Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving real Indian food while in Portimão. We’ll definitely...

People from Indian subcontinent but not of Indian origin should open their own culture's restaurant and not name it Indian because they end up nowhere, so is the case of this restaurant. An Indian foodie can tell the difference but what of unsuspecting Europeans, looking for a nice evening Indian meal? Answer: Restaurants like this end up ruining the name of Indian cuisine for European customers.
Tip for customers: Google how to make an Indian dish (any of your preference) and ask any waiter how it is made? If they really know what they are making in kitchen, eat there otherwise move to the other restaurant next door by the name of Masala House and see the difference yourself where everyone is Indian and know the...
Read moreVery hit and miss! Pickle tray with pappadums was poor with what seemed like mayo replacing raitha. Starters were good and we particularly liked the prawn puree. Mains were very hit and miss with the King prawn Jalfrezi being far too hot and not like any other Jalfrezi I’ve tasted. The chicken Dansak was tasty but almost certainly the meat was turkey. The sag paneer was not so nice with the cheese being tough and overcooked like it had been warmed up from the previous day. The lamb bhuna was okay but not the tastiest. Overall the meal and service were average and I didn’t get an apology when one of the servers managed to tip some of the rice on me and he also didn’t clean it up off the floor!! Toilets not the best either and it was cash only - not advertised - because apparently their card machine wasn’t...
