This fish and seafood restaurant is a hidden gem, predominantly frequented by Portuguese locals, which speaks to its authenticity and quality. While it's not the cheapest option in town, the food is absolutely stunning, offering fresh and expertly prepared dishes that truly capture the flavors of the sea. The service here is efficient, ensuring that your meal progresses smoothly without unnecessary delays. However, the waitstaff can come across as somewhat unfriendly. This might be due to a language barrier—my Portuguese is limited, which could contribute to the perceived lack of warmth. Despite this, they are professional and ensure that everything you need is taken care of. One drawback of the dining experience is the noise from the centrally located open kitchen. The constant clatter of dishes being washed and arranged, along with the sounds of beating and knocking, can be quite disruptive. It detracts from the otherwise pleasant ambiance of the restaurant. Despite these minor issues, I’ve returned multiple times and will certainly continue to do so. The exceptional quality of the food makes it worth revisiting, even with the noise and less-than-welcoming service. Would not recommend this place. We came with friends, and one waiter kindly seated us at a free table. We had just started looking at the menu when another staff member (possibly the head waiter or manager) came over and rudely kicked us out. Apparently, we were supposed to wait for his instructions before sitting down — even though that was never explained and the first waiter had already welcomed us and offered the table. His attitude was aggressive and disrespectful, and the whole situation made absolutely no sense. The atmosphere was ruined, and we lost our appetite. 5 stars thanks to the quality of the fresh fish and seafood. Superb! We ordered 6 king prawns for 2, 1 dorada and 1 🦀 crab and was enough for the two of us. The 2 downsides were, 1st that given that we had not booked in advanced we were squashed in a corner, and 2nd that the house white wine was cheap but awful! However service was super nice and friendly. A bit pricey maybe but worth it for the quality of the seafood (you can see the fresh seafood before ordering it!).
