Me and my friends went to Humbertos as people have recommended the restaurant for their steaks. We were introduced by a lovely atmosphere and a welcoming host going out of their way to service a table for 10 and more people. We had the algavrian style squid and deep fried squid as a starter and it was okay. But when we got to our mains which were a mix of sirloin and ribeye with an assortment of sauces, we were introduced with a very well done steak when 6 of us ordered medium rare. We hesitated being a pain in the arse customers but the meat was just too chewy therefore we asked if there was something they could do. They took our steaks back and fired us up a new one but our second steak came out completely raw, we tried explaining to the host what medium rare looks like where it should be pink not blue. The host albeit was being patient with our requests took back our order for the third time and when we got it back they asked us to check if it was okay by cutting it down the middle, to our surprise it was still raw. We didn't want to be karens anymore so we just said it was okay so we ended up just forcing ourselves to eat what was given to us. As a restaurant where all the meat they serve are at the front of the menu with pictures of perfectly cooked medium rare steaks, you would think that they would know how to cook steaks. Sadly, our experience left us with disappointment and we just left our food half eaten and ended up in a different restaurant. One of our friends had a funny stomach after the dinner because of the amount of raw meat that was consumed from the place. I would still like to commend the host/waitress that we had for being kind and patient with our group and doing everything she could to satisfy...
Read more2 star because the waiters were lovelly... Food was average at best. Its a shame about the the attitude of the chef. Worked as a chef in the industry for many years I would never dream of confronting a guest the way I was approached. Ordered mussels which were generally bad. I am however impressed they could be dry but also incredibly oily and swimming in salty water... Nothing was fresh herbs were incredibly wilted which indicates its been previously cooked. You can tell the difference with something that's been cooked with love and another which is cooked with spite. The chef which wasn't previously seen made a special effort to come and confront us about why we left the mussels. BIG NO. You aren't Gordon Ramsey. I'd expect it from a teenager not an older man. Obviously I wasn't going to rise to it as he obviously looking for an argument. Wouldn't recommend this place. Food is poor Prices are poor Words can't describe the...
Read moreHumberto’s is an absolute gem in Portimão! My husband is a seafood lover, and after trying their fish soup on the first night, he insisted we return—three nights in a row! He swears it’s the best he’s ever had, and although i did not try the soup I have to agree that it’s something special.
Beyond the incredible soup, everything else we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The service is excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food, making it a fantastic value. The ambiance is casual yet charming, perfect for a relaxed meal with great company.
