Arrived in Portugal a few days ago. Was looking for somewhere with good British food. I searched Google for "English breakfast near me" and Taffy's Grill was top of the options. We have eaten breakfast and tea there. The food is astonishing! It's the first time in a long while that I have been shocked by good food. The Welsh lady in the kitchen chatted to us when it was quiet and gave us advice on the best places to visit and shop. She was really helpful and was just a lovely person to be around. The other members of staff were also extra friendly and helpful, but in the way you want them to be. They ask you about the food quality when they can see it's convenient and not whilst you have a mouth full of food lol. It's honestly the most organised restaurant I have been to. They really knew what to do and worked like a very well oiled machine. The way they greeted you to changing cutlery once you ordered steak was phenomenal. I can't wait to go back there tomorrow and neither can my wife.
I also LOVE the way they handle their English breakfast menu! You get a check list of all the food that you normally have on an English breakfast. You get to tick what of those foods you want on your plate. You can choose any number of food items and you do not get penalised for choosing one item of all 14 items the set price works brilliantly and I think more places should adopt this method. After both our drinks and both full English breakfast the bill come to only €13. What more...
Read moreMe and my friend were craving some fish whilst on our holiday in Portimão and the reviews from this restaurant caught our eye, so we wanted to try it and honestly it did not disappoint! The atmosphere made us feel like we were back in the UK and we really loved the customer service, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We were served by Jade who had the sweetest soul, I don’t drink alcohol so I asked her if she could make a non-alcoholic version of one of their alcoholic drinks and she made me a ‘mojito-less mojito’ which made my evening as in previous restaurants I had been to, they were unable to do this for me, plus it tasted great too! My friend had the sangria and out of the ones she had tried in other restaurants around the area she really enjoyed this one.
We ordered the fish and chips and it definitely met, if not past our expectations, the fish was fresh and the portion size was very generous we enjoyed every bit of it and would definitely recommend and be...
Read moreA fun and lively pub that is clearly the favorite of many local British expats. The staff here are friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent.
I went on Sunday for their Sunday Roast. You have the option of turkey or roast beef, and I selected the beef. It was perfectly prepared with a portion size that was what you would expect of a Sunday Roast if you have enjoyed on in England. All of the vegetables and roasted potatoes were delightful, and the Yorkshire Pudding was outstanding.
Taffy’s does require that you make a reservation for Sunday Roast and you will need to put down a 10 Euro deposit (which is deducted on your bill on the Sunday). Keep this in mind if you want the roast.
As you would expect, they have a wide selection of beer and wine, and several cocktails. I had the sangria which...
