Ok ... I don't intend this review come across anywhere near as pretentious as it might to the superficial reader, but I think I can safely say without any fear of repudiation that during our travels over the past few decades we have eaten some pretty damn fine steaks all over the planet. Granted, most of them have been cooked by yours truly (modesty really should prevent me from saying that, but what the heck), but two standouts not cooked by moi were the half-tonne Tomahawk steak from the Swan Brewery restaurant in Perth (Australia), while the latest contender for 'Oh My Giddy Aunt!' was from here.

Their 1kg bone-in signature cut was magnificent!

We initially ordered it medium-rare, but as anticipated, it came out just a smidge too rare, so we asked for an extra couple of minutes cook-time (it's always easier to have steak done a little more than to have it undone if it's over-cooked) and it reappeared done to perfection.

The side dishes and desserts were also fine, but in all fairness to them, they'd need to have been sublime to be in the same league as the steak.

The waiter was spot-on with his balance of attention - not overly intrusive but there when appropriate.

BEWARE!! Restaurant caters to large party or family groups. I was dining alone, and waited 15 minutes before someone took my order, despite asking 3 different waiters. My main course came out cold and raw on the inside. I had to send it back, TWICE. The chef simply threw it back in the oven, and then resumed slouching on the counter, waiting. The manager came to serve my dinner when it was finally ready the third time. My main course had 4 prawns. He dropped one of the prawns on the table and didn’t apologise. Went here for a quick bite with a colleague at 10 pm, when we thought we'd only find fast food restaurants open at this time.
