Ok ... I don't intend this review come across anywhere near as pretentious as it might to the superficial reader, but I think I can safely say without any fear of repudiation that during our travels over the past few decades we have eaten some pretty damn fine steaks all over the planet. Granted, most of them have been cooked by yours truly (modesty really should prevent me from saying that, but what the heck), but two standouts not cooked by moi were the half-tonne Tomahawk steak from the Swan Brewery restaurant in Perth (Australia), while the latest contender for 'Oh My Giddy Aunt!' was from here.
Their 1kg bone-in signature cut was magnificent!
We initially ordered it medium-rare, but as anticipated, it came out just a smidge too rare, so we asked for an extra couple of minutes cook-time (it's always easier to have steak done a little more than to have it undone if it's over-cooked) and it reappeared done to perfection.
The side dishes and desserts were also fine, but in all fairness to them, they'd need to have been sublime to be in the same league as the steak.
The waiter was spot-on with his balance of attention - not overly intrusive but there when appropriate.
