The museum is a well preserved testemony of transport and urban revolution of Oporto. The vehicles are in mint condition. The building was the original transformation unit (coal to electricity), that fed the transport company's power grid. You will find vehicles specific to person, merch and coal transportation. There is a small media room in the middle of the exhibition, with an area suited for kids to play, draw, although, from my experience, they'll most certainly be interested in playing inside the carriages (Wich is somewhat permitted, but not allowed by rules).
What I consider is lacking, is a decent cafeteria. There is a coffee machine but that's that.

Despite its great place (former depot and power station) there is literally nothing to do here except take a look at old tram cars and power converters. Museum workers don't speak English, there is nothing interactive in there, no cafes. 15 minutes is maximum you can spend here. Compare it to (for instance) tram museum in Nürnberg - where there is always something for everyone: from small child to a grown up lazy parent (transport fans are somewhere in between and also covered). Fell really sad: seems to be that what happens if you have huge amount of money (granted from EU in this case) and completely no desire to do...

In the first section there are some well preserved tram carriages, with information boards that explain their individual histories. The second section upstairs is a collection of engines and electric generators of varying ages, which I did not find very interesting. And that’s it! I was expecting more and after 20 minutes I had...
