I was very excited to finally try this restaurant. always happy to see new young chefs with such pedigree Breakout on their own and open up their own establishments. These boys didn’t disappoint. The service was impeccable with friendly knowledgeable, and what appeared to be honest interest in our needs and tastes. They know their wine and have a wonderful selection to choose from. The approach here is more of a tasting and sharing menu. The dishes brought out one or two at a time until your entrée arrives, which also could be shared, but in our case, we all ordered individual entrees . All three of us were immensely happy with everything we ate, so much so that one of the appetizers, the broccolini and green bean we ordered a second of and truthfully, I probably could’ve eaten six orders of that alone. Advice, if you’re in Porto for a few days try to make Eter one of your destinations. I expect many wonderful and innovating meals from them in the coming years .

Éter is a fairly new restaurant (they opened in April 2024) but it's been on my to go list for a while due to the consistently good reviews. So we decided to give it a try with some friends. Since their concept is based on sharing, we ended up tasting half of the menu in between the 4 of us. They have an extensive wine menu and we really enjoyed both the white and the red wine we ordered. We were also pleasantly surprised when we asked about the cheese selection for the cheese board, it turned out they are sourcing them from our favorite cheese store in the city and as usual, it was a treat. The service was great, very attentive and accommodating. The ambiance was inviting. If you sit outside or by the window, you have a view onto the river, which is nice. Unfortunately, we all agreed that the food fell a bit short. Overall all the dishes were OK but nothing was memorable. We all enjoyed the desserts.

Great dinner experience. For dinner we shared a bottle of white wine (can’t remember the name), a bread basket, the tuna tataki, the laminated beef, and the brownie with caramel ice cream. The breadbasket came with olive oils and bacon butter. Both were fresh and rich! The tuma tataki was my favorite, the tuna was fresh and the crunchy garlic added a flavor and texture that was to die for. It comes with a seaweed salad that was delicious as well. The laminated beef was seasoned and cooked to perfection, however, the meat cut itself was a little tough. It came with an amazing rice and mushroom side and an apple salad. Both of which balanced off each other. We finished off with a brownie and caramel ice cream for dessert. The brownie was nutty and balanced well with the caramel ice cream. The wait staff was great, very informed on the flavors and intricacies of every dish.

There is so much to say about this restaurant. The service was unparalleled. Diogo provided superb recommendations for both food and wine. We sampled many items over the course of three visits. Yes, three visits in one week-Eter is that good. You must go there. We had a wonderful mix of flavors-the couvert was delightful with a crisped pork cheek butter and olive oil from a vineyard we had visited just days prior in the Duoro Valley. The hummus with smoked herbs and hazelnuts is delicious and understated, and the piquillo peppers with feta, crispy buckwheat and spicy oil was ridiculously good-I need this in my life on a regular basis. The mushroom pastry was wonderful but was a bit overshadowed by some of the other items, frankly. The broccolini and green beans were in a fried preparation with spiced aioli, that paired perfectly with the wine Diogo recommended. The carbonara croquette was other worldly. The grilled asparagus with shaved Parmesan and hazelnuts were, again, understated yet perfect. We had a special not on the menu-a tapas sized cod dish with toasted breadcrumbs, herbs, and a gorgeous bit of sauce. And then…the mushroom rice with egg and truffle…sigh. The rice was a bit crispy, the mushrooms just beautifully cooked and, the egg yolk with truffle was something I will crave for, well, all of the days until I can come back. Just when we thought it could not get any more amazing, it was suggested that we try the Basque cheesecake. It was the absolute perfect end to the meal with a bit of Madeira that Diogo selected. Trying to be original on our third meal at Eter, we had the lime mousse-it was also delicious and so fresh! But if you have to choose one, go for the former-it is not to be missed. We are not vegetarian but here we leaned in to the seasonal dishes and they were predominantly veg. So outstanding! The location is lovely-an outside seat is river and bridge view, inside is elegant yet unpretentious-cozy and welcoming. The service is outstanding-everyone is so incredibly thoughtful, kind, knowledgeable and dedicated to the experience of the meal. We are deeply grateful to have had such incredible meals...

Stumbled upon this place on our way home, we had a glance through the window and the atmosphere of the restaurant caught our attention. We made a reservation for the next day online, without knowing much about the menu or the concept. We had a very warm welcome, followed by an explanation of the concept of the restaurant. It serves a fusion kitchen based on local ingredients with mostly asian influences - while the dishes are smaller, they are ideally shared. So we ordered a total of 5 dishes and even ordered the tuna tatar a second time before dessert. We decided to come back to this place on our last evening in Porto to also try the remaining dishes on the menu. Dishes and Service were top notch and on point. Most dishes contained an interesting spicyness, which gave the dishes a twist, while still maintaining a round elegance neutralizing the spicyness with sweetness or acidity. Service is among the best you can ask for - giving recommendations were applicable, friendly, caring and never obtrusive. Very reasonable pricing. Overall an...
