I enrolled in the FLUP language course, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. I was initially assigned to the B2 level, but I quickly realized that the course was too advanced for my current language proficiency. Hoping to find a more suitable level, I reached out to the FLUP support team requesting a reassignment or guidance on how to proceed.
Regrettably, my attempts to communicate with the support team were met with disappointment. After my initial inquiries, FLUP ceased responding to my messages altogether. Despite my persistence, I was left without any assistance or direction on how to address the mismatch between my skill level and the assigned course.
What adds to the frustration is the lack of flexibility on FLUP's part. I understand that courses may not always align perfectly with every student's abilities, but the refusal to reassign me to a more suitable level or provide any form of assistance was disheartening.
To make matters worse, FLUP did not offer a refund for the course, even though it proved to be the most useless and unsatisfactory learning experience I have ever had. The lack of accountability and responsiveness from FLUP has left me not only disappointed but also out of pocket for a course that did not meet my needs.
In conclusion, my experience with FLUP has been characterized by unresponsiveness to concerns, and an overall failure to provide a valuable learning experience. I would caution prospective students to thoroughly assess FLUP's commitment to customer satisfaction before considering enrolling in their...

I signed up for a Portuguese for Foreigners course and took a placement test. I was placed in Level A2. On Day 1, it was immediately obvious that the course I was placed in was too advanced for me, so I asked to switch to Level A1. I never got a response, even with my instructor advocating for me. After too much time had passed without any response, I asked for a refund. I got a response exactly one month later. They stated they would not provide a refund. This is a shockingly terrible way to do business. Especially given the fact that I am a Portuguese Citizen, and I am trying to learn the language. I traveled from the United States to Portugal, made plans to stay a month, and have paid for food and accommodations this entire time, just so that I could take this course. I plan to spend more time in Portugal throughout my life, and move here one day. Portugal tries very hard to attract people to the country, and they want people to learn the language. But this kind of experience goes directly against its best interests. I have asked FLUP to reconsider and am awaiting their decision. I will update this review...
Read moreFlup is a great place to study. If you want to enjoy the Portuguese tradition of humanities in Porto then this university will offer you an amazing place to study, learn, make friends and develop an exciting university life. There is a lot of events taking place and you can make part of a classical tuna, an university choral, were you will sing and play Portuguese guitar. The brotherhood spirit is very important at Flup and if you want to enjoy this life style you need to participate in the "praxe" activities that might be sometimes a little bit disturbing.. Meanwhile you will wear a black coat and uniform going around dressed like that in a truly Harry Potter style. Don't forget that JK Rowling lived a couple of years...
