This is such a great find for us, we just moved to Porto 2 1/2 weeks ago and have walked past Talhasco a dozen times. We live 2 blocks away. It is always busy, but there’s always a table available. Indoor/outdoor seating, we finally went last night and it was everything we hoped for: a local neighborhood place with authentic PT food, great service, ambiance and really reasonable price. The waiters all speak excellent English..even tho we tried our limited Portuguese. First time they ordered for us and it was too much food, but it was all really solid and we loved it all. Highlights the tomato/onion salad, peppers, bean stew with pork, bread basket was amazing! We had a bottle of red Alentejo for €12.50, so good. The entire bill was €50, but we over ordered. And now we know! This will be our weekly go to from now on. FYI, I wish I could give 4 1/2 stars...

At his suggestion, we finished with a traditional Portuguese dessert and a rich espresso—pure perfection. The entire feast came to just 15 euros per person, tip included, and we gladly left even more in gratitude. This spot is an absolute must-visit before you leave Porto—you’ll carry the memory of it long...

This restaurant was accommodating and kind despite the rowdiness of our group. The food and drinks were perfect, the outdoor courtyard was lovely, the interior of the restaurant is also very cute. If I come back to Porto, I'll definitely stop by. Only drawback to consider is the menu is only available in Portuguese so be prepared to use...
