The head waiter was completely stressed and lacked control and understanding of own tasks and guests basic needs. Her ways was stressful for the other waiters as well. We started with a sushi platter which was ok, not more because several of the pieces with fish still had parts of the skin on them. The taste was good, but not nearly worthy a Micheline recognition. We drank a sparkling wine with the sushi. My husband ordered next a beef with baked vegetables, and then they brought a bowl with standard shop bought salt crisps to go with. I ordered a quinoa salad, which is the simplest salad I’ve ever had, anywhere. (I’ve had a few, I’m a grown woman. The main core came the same second (literally) as the cleared away the sushi plates. The waiter was gone, didn’t ask about anything and not if my husband would like something else to drink with the meat than sparkling wine. After that the waiter didn’t look our way at all. We had also ordered sparkling water which they suddenly shared with another table, then giving us flat water. Maybe not a big deal, but strange. I guess it was the level of stress that got the best of them. We had to ask for the bill several times, when they came with it, they never came back. Good for us that we paid cash and...
Read moreDisappointed mainly because of its poor service and cheap rice.
It locates across from its famous sister restaurant in Foz and in the neighbourhood of fashion shops. The restaurant has a counter area on the ground level where you can look at the ches making sushi and above has another seating area with two balconies. It is nice interior with enjoyable atmosphere. But....its service is so appalling. When we arrived at lunch time, the counter area was closed even we booked counter, and we had no idea how to get into the restaurant. Then finally staff saved us but then no one picked our order after 10 minutes and it is not busy time. They do not explain what fish the sushi set contains or even forgot to give us soy sauce. Staff is nice but far away from professional. Fish is fresh and lovely but sushi rice is way too sweet and vinegary, and it is cheap grain for rice which is almost like eating from Wasabi British sushi box restaurant chain, but pay more expensive price.
If you have a counter and serve good sushi, please serve with at least decent rice. We went to other sushi restaurant in Porto and they do serve fine rice, so no excuse. It might have been good restaurant but...
Read moreThe price isn't justifiable. Good quality sushi but not enough complexity or amazing product quality for the price. Experience is also mid. The 12 Piece Sushi Freestyle was good. The pieces look simple, but the flavours are different from what you find in other sushi places. All of the pieces taste different and special. The combination of flavours was good. The ambience at dinner time is great, but I wouldn't say it is for everyone. The lighting is dim, which I think gives it a chill and relaxed vibe. If you get a good seat, you will be able to see the chefs making the sushi below, which adds a lot to the experience! The entrance is very confusing. It is very small, there are 3 possible ways and no one to welcome you. The staff is super kind, but for the price, honestly, they should be better. Long waiting time to get the menu once I arrived, I was never offered any drinks menu , nor asked if I wanted anything to drink. They basically asked for me to order everything at once, starters and main course. Forgot to give me chopsticks to eat and other small things. Nothing too bad, but again, for the price, it...
