This place is fantastic. From start to finish. It is a small culinary oasis south of Lisbon. The place is beautifully designed and cosy. I had a delicious Brunch at a more than fair price. Excellent vegan and regular pancakes and perfect (vegan) quesadillas. A phenomenal red smoothie and refreshing juice of the day (mango / passion fruit). The products are organic and of the very best quality. You can taste that nothing is random here. The ingredients are selected and prepared with love, something you don't see in many places. The service is excellent and there is nothing to complain about. Everyone is consistently friendly, attentive and professional. This applies to the staff as well as the owner couple, who are very likeable and whose vision of creating a wonderful place where clulinary hapiness and sustainability go hand in hand is visible. Overall, I give 10 out of 5 stars. I would come here again and again and it is a must to visit this special...

I'm neither vegan nor vegetarian, but many of their dishes accommodate those options, and I've never once missed out on taste. Their soup of the day is almost always vegan, and that's my standard order if I'm craving more lunch than breakfast--always delicious.
Not only do they serve coffee, but they also sell it. You can buy beans or they'll grind them there for you. They're also my go-to for teas and salt, and they have spices and some bulk flours, as well, plus some refrigerated items such as a delicious pesto sauce (return the jar for a credit on your next purchase). If you're here on vacation, picking up a little packet of local salt or tea is a great option for a little souvenir or travel gift.
This isn't Starbucks--it's a Portuguese-family-owned little shop that's very good at what it does, so understand that it...
Read moreI love Alegre-me—it’s my favorite place to eat in Sétubal!
As a vegan, there are several options available—and I know the ingredients are always fresh and in-season.
In addition to excellent food AND coffee, Alegre-me has a small section of bulk items for sale, many organic selections, like teas, infusions, coffee, salt from the Sado region, beans, grains, and more. Plus, they offer takeaway refrigerated items like kombucha, overnight oats, and pesto (don’t miss the pesto!).
Alegre-me is my dining room away from home—truly an...
