The most fun lunch we had in Setúbal! Authentic with so much love and care. One of the highlights of our time here. We had the lunch special: dourado, which came with wine, potatoes, salad, bread, cake and coffee. For two people the total was about 30€ and we left completely full and did not even think about dinner. We loved learning about the cake that the restaurant is named after: Srikaya. Loved the history here and pride in roasted fresh fish and quality. The owners are fun and the service was fantastic. We felt welcomed and left laughing and smiling. Wow! What a find! Tucked on a corner near the Praça do Quebedo, this gem of a restaurant features Portuguese and Alentejo dishes at their best! My husband and I stopped for lunch after arriving in Setúbal by train. We had perfectly grilled robalo with garlicky potatoes and salad, with mango and passion fruit topped mousse/pudding and traditional Sericaia Alentejana for dessert. Besides being literally 10 steps from our apartment, Srikaya is right up there with our favorite restaurants in Setubal. Not only is the food excellent, but the staff working there are all great (especially Joao & Emilia) ! So friendly, welcoming and helpful.
