BIG disappointment. We ordered every vegan option on the take out menu (hummus, red-pepper hummus, grape leaves, falafel and stuffed eggplant) and unfortunately half of the food was fermented/spoiled. It's the first time in my life that I have returned a take out order to a restaurant! They had given us avocado hummus in place of the red pepper and it was clearly expired (tangy..and not in a good way.) When I returned the food and explained, they called the owner who did give us our money back but also explained that the food could not be spoiled because they had just taken it out of a can/bottle. The portions were minuscule and it was very expensive. The only things we were able to eat was the falafel (which was fine) and the hummus (also fine but not great for the price). Basically, this seems like a money-making idea where they pull a few things from jars, put them in tiny to go containers and up charge everything. I actually felt sorry for the guys working the place, as they clearly don't make the food. I love Lebanese food and was hoping that this would mirror the other extraordinary culinary experiences I have had in Setubal where the chef/owner really cares about the quality of the food and has a hand in the...
Read moreSaw a nice, big and colorful hummus dish on the pictures in google. Drove all the way for this beauty. When I arrived the place the ordering system was so messy - you have to order from a site on the phone. Took me 15 minute to place an order which I anyway paid in the counter 🤦🏻♂️ Could have taken 30 seconds. Then - the hummus... We expected to get the nice dish we saw in their page on google and their website, but got a huge disappointment when the guy gave us a very cold hummus in a very small plastic container with one thin pita bread all for take away. No plate to eat there, no colors, no chickpeas on top, no spices, no olive oil as the pictures shown. Basically drove a long way to get hummus we could have bought in the closest supermarket. The pictures on their website and on google are leading astray. Very...
Read moreVery small eatery above the ground floor kitchen, take away style. Impressed with the options of 4 vegan pizzas. We watched the chef prepare the pizza dough. We shared the deluxe vegan pizza with 'cheese', red onion, mushrooms, peppers and sliced olives. It was lovely (non vegan enjoyed immensely also). We tried the falafel which were perfectly passable but looked straight out of a packet and don't look like the round ones in the photos. The hummus was fresh and tasty and the pita bread was gorgeous. The toilets are round the corner at the sister restaurant which is odd and sadly no alcohol! I would have loved a glass of wine! We ate upstairs in the lovely, bright lounge and look forward to warmer weather when we will get take outs to eat at the miradouro. Great...
