We came to Setubal for the fried cuttlefish, but stayed because of the food at Machadas. The casava impressed my Brazilian girlfriend to the point she joked about leaving me for the chef. Don't be put of by the simplicity of their menu like i was, they know what they're doing with the ingredients... best steak I've had on this holiday!

Setubal itself was quiet (it was early January to be fair), but this place buzzed despite the silence... clearly well-liked by locals....

After a long journey from home location to Setúbal by airplane, we got exhausted by night. After a quick tour around our apartment in Setúbal we stumbled upon this place amongst the many other possibly very good places.
