We were staying at Hotel Laitau. This place is towards right exiting hotel on next block. I thought it a good place based on the online pictures and reviews. We had our dogs so ate outside. Received bread and garlic olives right away. Bread was fresh and olives were salty garlicky (yum!). There were already a few people ahead of us so we did wait a bit for the food. It was totally worth the wait. I ordered the lulinhas fritas and wife bife e natas e congumelos. Wine marinade, olive oil, garlic and herbs for the lulinhas. They didn't need any additional salt or pepper. It was a perfectly seasoned dish. Used the oil garlic herb sauce that laid beneath the lulinhas to dip my fries. Yep, it was that good. Best lulinhas I've had since moving to Portugal. I don't eat meat but my wife also loved her dish. It was fork tender in a creamy mushroom sauce. We later found out that meat was a young calf. This chef is not afraid to season and marinade the food. I couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Não são conceitos, são instituições, estes restaurantes de bairro onde tanto podemos ir almoçar, jantar, petiscar ao fim do dia, ou simplesmente tomar um café ou uma bebida. No caso de um restaurante familiar o importantíssimo é aquela sensação de “estar em casa”, o que aqui é conseguido. Gosto especialmente do esparguete com camarões e pimentos, do choco frito, das sardinhas assadas, como não poderia deixar de ser, e da disponibilidade na cozinha em fazer pequenas alterações ao prato adaptando-o ao meu gosto peculiar, mas isso é porque sou chato.
