Sushima — Restaurant in Setúbal

Wonderful sushi, probably the best we have ever had, all prepared with great creativity and attention to detail, very friendly and helpful staff. The chef loves preparing vegetarian sushi which was great for my son who is vegetarian, he prepared a great platter of vegetarian sushi which was exquisite in its presentation and taste. The chef sent complimentary salmon sashimi with French garlic while we were waiting for our food, great texture, very tasty. My wife and I shared the Combination II which is improvised by the chef, I have no words to describe it... Every mouthful needs its own description... It is not the cheapest sushi but it's also not the most expensive, it's well worth it for the experience. We paid about 75 Euro for 4 people with a bottle of wine and one dessert. Our waiter gave great suggestions, was very attentive and spoke English very well which was very helpful to my wife and son who know a bit of Portuguese but sometimes need a more detailed description of the menu. I ordered a family style plate of sushi. I believe it was the salmon option and some tempura prawns. This was from Deliveroo on the 3rd of November. Nothing was alarming the food didn’t taste off ! However my bf and eye woke up in the middle of the night. With jabbing stomach pain. It soon hit us that something wasn’t right. We were both sick all night ! It was clear at this point that we were having symptoms of FOOD POISONING! I have never experienced this before. It was so unpleasant and this continued through the whole of the next day. Fevers, diarrhoea and not able to keep water or food down. This is now the next day and both of use aren’t well from this. I am very sad that this ruined a whole day of our holiday ! Especially as on deliveroo this was a restaurant that was recommend. PLEASE don’t make the same mistake we did. Food and hygiene is very serious especially with raw wish. Looked for a good sushi restaurant for a date with my girlfriend and found Sushima near me. I decided to give it a chance and I was not disappointed. Great service from the staff. The decor is super cozy and welcoming with a very moody lighting and high quality table utilities. You also have a sitting space outside for the summer that looks as good as the interior.

Once seated they serve a generous amount of some delicious appetisers to start.
