While visiting Sintra on a grey and dreary day, we were looking for a cafe for a light lunch and found a gem in Meia Pipa. The staff were warm and welcoming, even offering my wife a wool blanket for her lap on this cool day. We each had the chicken and arugula wrap and split the fries. The food was simple, but delicious with great flavor and presented creatively. The space is tight for indoor dining, but the staff are very friendly and upbeat and they play great music. The menu is varied, from cod to pork to wraps and salads. The restaurant is out of the way from the crowds and offers good food at a reasonable price.

After hiking the nearby trails to see the stunning sights of Sintra we stopped here for a break. We had amazing wraps (the vegan and the Meia Pipa wraps) which were the perfect size for lunch, with a side of fries. I also tried Ginja here for the first time which is a nice sweet cherry Portuguese liqueur. They have a terrace outside with seating but we opted to sit inside just in case it got cold. The staff were very friendly and helpful and were offering blankets to anyone that wanted one.

We were staying right next door to this little hidden gem in Sintra. The bartender and server could not have been more welcoming and attentive to our needs. They even served us from our private patio where we had more room. Food and drink were excellent - we just kept ordering more. Thank you for adding to our magical Sintra experience!

We chose this restaurant because the one next door had a one-hour wait. Ironically, after being seated, we ended up waiting more than an hour for our lunch. Although we were told there would be a wait, we were not warned it would be this long. When we complained, the waitress rudely replied, "This is not McDonald's." By that point, we had only received a Coke and a drink and were informed there were still two tables ahead of us. When we immediately asked if we could leave after paying for the drink, we were told we had to pay for all the food. The three wraps we eventually received were very thin, and at 7-8 euros each, they were still overpriced given their size and quality. The only redeeming item was the codfish sandwich. In hindsight, we should have waited next door. This was absolutely our worst dining experience...

I’m torn between a 2 and 3 stars. We came here before quinta de regaleira visit based on the good reviews. The food is mediocre, definitely not anything memorable. Aperol spiritz was just bad. And the service was also bordering bad. We got this waitress. Asked for pepper. She said your food already has pepper. She didn’t bring it. I wouldn’t come here.

Edited: As you can see from the owners response, this place isn’t about improving either. I had a sandwich not tapas. And yes, no pepper. (The owner did prove my point.) Evidently, instead of talking to his/her wait staff, pointing fingers or being rude to customers isn’t going to get this place business. There are plenty of other restaurants in this...
