A WARNING: this was a VERY manipulative service experience. All patrons were asked for a positive review before paying, then were told that we could not pay via card as the eftpos machine “would likely decline”. We were directed to the nearest ATM and told to pay in cash. When challenged about paying in cash, the server turned off the eftpos machine, offered other reasons why it wasn’t in use, and then sourced an eftpos machine from their neighbouring minimart. Sign at entrance is inviting stating "Traditional Portuguese Food". Not in the least. Neither the serving nor kitchen staff spoke Portuguese. I had the Tapas Português with caramelized bacon & batata frita. Fries were store/frozen, not traditional fresh/hand-cut. "caramelized bacon" was warmed pieces of cold cuts. Not "traditional", not worth 15 Euros. Side of grilled chouriço, seems to have been from frozen, charred on the outside, very tough & undercooked inside, could barely cut through it. DO NOT COME HERE! The woman at the front with the glasses that helped me was very kind, but that’s about all I can say good about this place. I wanted a quick bite to go as Sintra is a long day. Ordered a hand and cheese toast, along with white rice and chicken nuggets to go. First of all it took ages and I was the only one there. Second, the toast was just two giant pieces of white bread with a singular slice of ham and cheese. Horrible. The rice was cold, bland, and sticky. I guess that nuggets were the best part.
