We were fortunate enough to stumble upon Mela Canela, thanks to Kathia from Go2Cintra tours who recommended it. Arriving just half an hour before closing time, we feared our timing was off. But to our delight, Melanie greeted us with a warm smile. Despite the limited options due to the late hour, she graciously offered us their signature falafel and hummus, which turned out to be a delightful surprise.

Wow. This place has amazing vegan fare. The special today was baked potatoes with the most flavorful vegan cheese and broccoli and veggies. The falafel dish is incredibly fresh and I don’t know what they put in that salad, but wow ! Everything is fresh and works so well together. And the portions are generous.
