We were in the Castle of Pena Restaurant (there is a cafeteria also). We waited 40 minutes in a line just to eat low quality food, so we did not enjoy the visit. The personell is so slow that one third of the restaurant is empty in this crammed tourist destination. There are elementary faults such as that the customer does not know what the soup is and the meal of the day although he has 40 min in the line or that the personell works in a row which slows down to the slowest link. There is no sign to tell you the meal of the day. The food was sour and we only ate it because we were hungry. The restaurant only generates the profit thanks to the fact that the tourists change all the time because of the Palace otherwise nobody would come back. A change of the manager is...

This food made a kid’s school lunch seem like a fancy meal. Pasta was overcooked and rice was dry. They were topped with lukewarm curry sauce that tasted watery.
Some of the servers were nice, but their service was extremely slow despite there being several of them in the kitchen. We ended up queuing half an hour for a disappointing lunch.
Such a shame as the palace itself...
