Villa 6 was a great find, totally by accident. We were looking for somewhere to eat a small snack, somewhere that was a little less crowded than the rest of the town. We were tourists, but wanted to have a slightly more personal and intimate meal. Finding Villa 6 was amazing and I would recommend to anyone. Sitting outside on the very narrow street gave a wonderful atmosphere. Dare I say, we almost felt like locals. The food was totally amazing, unexpected and a great surprise. We had to wait but that was not a problem as we knew everything was being prepared to order, nothing pre-made. As a result all food tasted really fresh, the Patatas Bravas, were piping hot, and could not have tasted better, just the right amount of aioli. These were the best Patatas Bravas we had anywhere in Spain or Portugal during our trip. My wife had the pork sandwich. When she made her choice it was obvious that she wasn't expecting much, when the dish arrived, she was pleasantly surprised. The pork was among the best she had, the bread fresh and the perfect accompaniment, couldn't have been better. Staff were attentive but left us alone to enjoy the experience. It was obvious looking around at the other tables that everyone was enjoying their food and drink, no one was in a hurry to leave.
When we return to Sintra we will be making a bee-line...
Read moreVilla 6 has a great location right as you come down the hill from the castle and palace... Or go up it if you are brave. We looked at several possible restaurants but kept coming back to their nice little outdoor dining area and really did not regret it. We had a delicious meal of sardines on toast, a smoked pork sandwich, fried potatoes with spicy garlic aioli, tossed greens, and a cod fish birds nest type dish that I could have went back for extra helpings of despite being completely full from the generous portions. Be sure to have with a beer and refreshing vino verde for a more local experience. Prices were very reasonable for the area and our server was very attentive They did not push add ons or just bring dishes they intend to charge for either which was nice. They just provide a lovely lunch experience to decompress after several hours of walking around the...
Read moreUndercooked food, a “faulty” card machine forcing us to pay cash (which they only told us after eating), And none of them speak Portuguese.
It might be cheaper than surrounding places but you get what you pay for. Can’t recommend to anyone
Edit: i read more reviews and the owner seems to be very cocky and rude to other reviewers. Especially when someone mentions that the only option for water is 2,50 euro bottles of 25cl water. When they say they’re disappointed that theres no tap water the owner claims it’s disrespectful to serve in Portugal (which it’s not) and says “if you don’t like our country don’t come here”. This last point seems to indicate he cares for his country yet none of the staff even speak Portuguese so clearly he can’t even be bothered to pay his own countrymen. All in all, a cocky rude owner lying to people leaving...
