Churrasqueira de Monte Gordo — Restaurant in Vila Real de Santo António

Annoyingly, we read the reviews at the table, and we’re already too deep to pull out of this experience.

Looking past the physical altercation which took place on the kitchen with what seemed like customers, I’m not sure why this place is still in business.

The staff member was friendly enough and we ordered 2 chicken and 2 sides with some beer.

Firstly - we got olives that were pitted with black spots as if they were 3 weeks old.

We ordered 2 1/2 chicken portions which ended up being 2 dried up shins, a thigh cut into 3 bits and the wing. Not what is advertised on the menu and akin to the other poor reviews here. It was drenched in oil and no seasoning/ condiments on the table. How they get away with this con is beyond anybody in Monte Gordo an an embarrassment to the other amazing restaurants near by.

The chips and sides were fine but this place needs a kick up...

I wish that there was an option for 1/2 a star.

A TOTAL WASTE OF $$$.

There are many good restaurants in Monte Gordo and now that we have been here a few days, we can understand why this place is usually empty.

The portion of chicken my husband received for take-away prompted him to ask if they had given him the wrong order. We have eaten at a number of churrascarias in Portugal and this is the first time that we were given a miniature “1/2 chicken”. Now I am not even sure what we ate…it was so small.

Shameful that these people can get away with this…

Cenamos anoche alli, nos atendieron rapido y el trato fue amable, pero nos colocaron en la mesa sin decirnos nada, un queso, pan, pate de sardina, mantequilla y aceitunas. Y luego nos cogieron la comanda:

Pedimos 1/2 pollo (6.50€)para compartir y acompañamiento de aliño de tomate (3.50€) para dos con dos pesi.

Cuando pedimos el ticket nos habian puesto dos quesos (7€) , dos medios pollos (13€), el pan para dos, el pate de sardina, aceitunas para dos... Un robo la bandeja de medio pollo, era ridicula si eso era dos medios pollos y las presas con mucho hueso. Estaba bueno (que menos), ¿pero 13€ un pollo entero que cabia en una bandejita de las de metal ovalada?

Cuando reclamamos el pollo solo nos dijeron literal " medio pollo,1 pollo" y le dijimos que solo habiamos pedido 1 medio pollo... y nada, sin interes en entender... como ya nos lo habiamos comido... El queso nos lo cobraron doble pero quitaron el que ni siquiera habian llevado a la mesa. Al igual que el pate, la mantequilla y aquello que no habiamos ni pedido, ni comido.

Una pena que hagan eso porque habia más mesas reclamando lo mismo. El sitio esta bien, pero si te inflan el ticket,a mi modo te estan estafando.

El gerente si se vio preocupado porque eso pasara, pero el resto de camareros, estaban acostumbrados a descontar del ticket final...

No volveré, me fui con la sensación de que me habian estafao en mi cara...
