We'd been to WOW once before, a few years ago, were not impressed, but decided to give it another try this year. The place is clearly popular and the good ratings show that it's serving what people want, so that's fine - it's our expectations that did not match. For us the food was quite disappointing. While the miso soup was good and flavorful and could pass as somewhat authentic, the rest was not. The mixed sushi boards look pleasant, but have little in common with Japanese food (or what you get at good Japanese restaurants in Europe, Barto in Tavira, for example, before they closed). Futomakis dripping in honey sauce or uramakis topped with walnuts are plain weird. The rice was also not right (cold, very dense, small kernels), the proper dimensions and sizing that nigiri needs - all missing. Read morePretty much the undisputed best sushi in the area, the only place that matches the quality of the food is AMA but their service is horrendous.
WOW can be pretty pricey at dinner but during lunch they have an all you can eat menu and overall menu + 1 drink will be around 20€. For the quality of food and the service I think the lunch menu is an absolute steal, anyone who likes sushi should try the place.
Initially chef's choice will be brought to the table and after if you want to order specific pieces they give you a menu. They take into consideration dietary restrictions and als if you just dont like something they won't serve it to you.
The service is excelent, very nice servers, they do and amazing job at explaining how everything works. The servers really make the experience better and premium.
The restaurant also has a...

After five minutes, a table was found for us and we had an amazing lunch. We had excellent sushi (the best we had in a very long time) and incredible service.
Rinaldo explained the difference between lunch and dinner service, so we decided to make a reservation for dinner a couple of days later.
We were not disappointed! Dinner was just as special as lunch and the whole family enjoyed it very much. My sons are still asking for us to go back to Monte Gordo to eat at Wow Sushi. We will return in the future.
If you are in Monte Gordo, go to Wow Sushi! But make reservations, the demand is high and justifiably so.
Congratulations to Rinaldo and...
