Title: Disappointing Dining Experience with Great Service

I recently visited a food restaurant with high hopes of indulging in a delicious meal. While the service provided by the waiter was commendable and polite, I must admit that the overall dining experience left much to be desired.

Upon perusing the menu, we decided to try the squid dish, as it seemed promising. Unfortunately, our anticipation quickly turned into disappointment when the plate arrived at our table. The squid was marred by an overwhelming amount of garlic and oil, overpowering any potential flavors of the seafood itself. The excessive use of garlic completely masked the delicate taste of the squid, rendering it nearly unrecognizable. This heavy-handed approach to seasoning greatly detracted from the dish, leaving a lingering aftertaste that was rather unpleasant.

Furthermore, the quality of the wine served was disappointing. While I understand that not all establishments have an extensive wine selection, the offering provided was of a noticeably cheap and subpar quality. The wine lacked depth and complexity, failing to complement the meal or enhance the dining experience. It felt like an afterthought rather than a carefully curated accompaniment to the food.

On a positive note, the waiter who attended to us throughout the evening was friendly, attentive, and displayed excellent customer service. He was knowledgeable about the menu and made efforts to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. His presence definitely elevated the overall...

Such a memorable time at this restaurant. We went twice during our stay (would never normally go to the same place twice)! The first night we were delighted be a wonderful crab dish and a bottle of delicious sparkling wine. It felt so special but was so reasonably priced. Because we had such a lovely time a few nights later we decided to revisit. We had the most delicious prawns and sat for hours with a lovely glass or three of vinho verde (one of these was complementary)! The staff were incredibly attentive and considerate. They remembered us from the previous night and made us feel so welcome. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and if you do not visit during your stay at Vila Real de Santo Antonia, you would be missing...

This was a great find. We had the "prato do día" one was bacalao, the other, breaded turkey. Both were delicious and came with salad (the turkey also had chips and rice). We particularly liked that we were asked if we wanted bread (rather than it automatically being put on the table and then charging for it). The house white was lovely and a very reasonable price.
