Marsalgado, Restaurante & Beach Bar — Restaurant in Vila Real de Santo António

Absolutely wonderful restaurant. Went twice for lunch and dinner during our stay in Portugal. My husband and in-laws loved the swordfish, it's their favourite fish and they thought the swordfish was lovely in this restaurant. I had the exotic sea platter the first time to try it, and it was lovely. The prawns and salmon in particular, which are my favourites anyway. Lovely boiled potatoes too. The second time I had lamb which was lovely and tender. Then the desserts. My god, the desserts. Absolutely beautiful. Lovely helpful staff, one of them took a photo of the dessert fridge so we didn't all have to go up to look. The chocolate cake, the other choc cake with ice cream, the pistachio cheesecake and... I can't remember what my mum in law had actually but we were all very happy. The cocktails were also very good, bit heavy on the alcohol but we didn't mind.

Helpful, attentive staff. Asked where we would like to sit, and we didn't have to wait long. The location is great, right by the sea. And the restaurant is decorated beautifully too.

Absolutely Amazing!! Our food arrived and each bite was packed with flavour. Our night took a turn for the worst as our 10 month old threw up and we had to leave abruptly. We had our food packaged and I can honestly say the staff were brilliant. We were so embarrassed but they somehow made us feel even more comfortable. I'm not sure who the lady was who helped a great deal but she was either the manager or owner, she even gave us a blanket to go back to the hotel with so baby won't be cold. We ate the rest of our food in our hotel room and we can say hands down the best on the strip. Portion size was very generous and we just managed to finish. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a chilled yet classy restaurant...

Mar Salgado tja wat moet ik hier over vertellen? Ik zeg 'Ga er heen! Dit is zo onwijs leuke strandbar/restaurant aan het strand van Monte Gordo. Wij waren in Monte Gordo van 13-9 tot 20-9-2010 en hebben hier elke dag als we aan het strand zaten gedronken en gegeten. We hebben ook 1x van het restaurant gebruik gemaakt savonds. Wat een TOP tent wou dat deze strandbar in Nederland zat!!! Personeel super aardig super vriendelijk en spreken een goed woordje Engels, heerlijke muziek hebben ook 2 dagen live muziek mee gemaakt geweldig. Van alle strandtenten op Monte Gordo Beach is dit toch wel een uitblinker... Het eten is gewoon super vers en veel voor een betaalbare prijs. In het restaurant savonds hadden wij de sardientjes en de verse tonijn. Nou het was zo lekker en zoveel en als je dan afreken lach je om wat je moet betalen... Daar eet je niet voor in Nederland. Voor de rokers je kan gewoon lekker binnen roken heerlijk. En wat ook helemaal super is daar is de "eigenaares" heb nog nooit zo iemand mee gemaakt die elke dag in de zaak is je altijd begroet of een praatje met je maak. Ze praat zelfs paar woorden Nederlands "Ik hou van jou" en wat scheldwoorden maar dat zei ze maar niet. Het is zo leuk mens, met de live muziek trok ze echt iedereen die buiten stond gewoon lekker naar binnen om te dansen op de live muziek. Zelf ging ze ook helemaal uit dr dak zo leuk om te zien. Ik zeg echt ben je in Monte Gordo of op Monte Gordo Beach ga hier dan zeker eens lekker wat drinken en eten. Mensen van MarSalgado wij willen jullie heel erg bedanken voor jullie vriendelijkheid praatjes en natuurlijk het heerlijke eten bij jullie. Wij missen jullie nu al. Hoop dat jullie het ontiegelijk druk gaan krijgen want dat verdiend deze zaak! Bedankt lieve mensen. En voor de eigenaares je mag super trots zijn op je personeel. Wat een super vriendelijke mensen. Bedankt voor de mooie tijd!
