I recently visited Al Zarka Restaurant in Doha for lunch and had a generally positive experience with a few areas for improvement. I ordered the chicken biryani, and the taste was quite good. The rice was flavorful, the chicken was well-cooked, and the portion size was generous—especially considering the affordable prices. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a filling meal without spending too much, this restaurant offers great value for money.
The restaurant itself is spacious, with enough seating to accommodate a good number of guests. It didn’t feel crowded, which made the dining experience comfortable. However, cleanliness was an issue—the dining area and tables could have been much cleaner. A bit more attention to hygiene would definitely enhance the overall atmosphere.
One of the standout positives was the friendly staff. The employees were polite and welcoming, providing quick service and ensuring the food was served without long waits. Their approachable attitude made the visit more pleasant.
Overall, Al Zarka Restaurant is a decent spot for a quick and affordable meal. While the food is tasty, and the staff is hospitable, improving cleanliness would make it a much better dining destination. I would recommend it to anyone looking for budget-friendly and flavorful...

Based on the good ratings, I had fairly high expectations — but my experience was honestly disappointing.
From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was uncomfortable. A group of men kept staring, which made me feel uneasy. I ordered chicken momos for takeaway, and when I ate them just 5 minutes later, the sauce was still cold, like it had just come out of the fridge. The taste was bland — both the momos and the sauce lacked any real flavor — and unfortunately, they ended up upsetting my stomach.
I’ve tried dine-in, takeaway, and even delivery here — and none of the experiences were positive. The staff is extremely slow and inattentive. The delivery service is probably the worst part: I ordered breakfast at 10:40 AM, and by 11:43 AM (over an hour later), it still hadn’t arrived — and the restaurant is only 230 meters away!
It’s frustrating because the ratings suggest a much better experience than what’s actually being delivered. I’ve also seen several other reviews mention the same issues — poor food quality, slow service, and careless staff. One review even called it “the worst biryani ever,” and honestly, I understand why.
I really tried to give this place a fair shot, but I can’t recommend it based on my...
Read moreI had an absolutely amazing experience at Al Zaarka during my stay in Doha! This restaurant truly captures the rich and diverse flavors of Indian cuisine — from spicy curries to perfectly made biryanis, every dish was a treat for the taste buds. The variety on the menu is impressive, and each meal we tried was full of authentic taste and freshness.
What really made our visits memorable, though, was the exceptional service — especially from Lal Bahadoor, one of the waiters. His warm hospitality, attention to detail, and friendly nature made us feel right at home. He remembered our preferences, offered great food recommendations, and always served with a smile. Because of his excellent service, we found ourselves coming back again and again throughout our stay in Doha.
Whether you’re a local or a tourist looking for quality Indian food, I highly recommend visiting Al Zaarka. Great food, fantastic service, and a welcoming atmosphere — everything you could ask for in a...
