AS SALATHA: Also know as Old Salatha. This is Home 🏡 to me. So much to say about this place and this is where i grew up. It is the heart of Doha.
Old Salatha is primarily a commercial district and where most hotels in Qatar are you'll find from under budget to 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 's, City Inn to Hilton and around here we have Qatar National Museum , a beautiful park with a kids play area right opposite to the park is Halul cafe on the other side bunch of good food joints everything close by to this place most must visit places in Qatar are on walkable distance - Cornish , Souq Waqif , Gold Souq , Bank Street by the it is easy to find taxis. This is the where Hamad International Airport is situated near.
Some History : The Founder, of the Qatar Sheikh Jassim Bin Mohammed Al Thani selected this area as the seat of government in the early 1900s due to its close proximity to the sea and ease of access for vessels.
The historic Palace of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani which is now National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) is a important monument. This important monument to Qatar’s past is now preserved as the heart of the new NMoQ. The NMoQ design is inspired by the desert rose.
Al Sulaiti House which is now Qatar Folkloric Troupe Centre is renovated in order to house the Qatar Folkoric Troupe.
