SMAT Restaurant — Restaurant in Doha

OH BOY . We arrived late after a night out in this beautiful country had coffee desserts and we were kinda full but this place was highly recommended so we just wanted to order a main dish each and wow the prices for what’s on offer is kinda shocking. We asked our amazing waitresses what is the most ordered and what she recommended and we landed on 1 - mashkhoul chicken … : an over cooked chicken with bland rice this summs it up 2 majbous al shuyoukh : a greasy rice topped with nice braised beef the beef was kinda good but the greasy rice kills it . Again kinda bland.

In fairness we weren’t so hungry but we still finished our dishes and still the main issue is the price for what you get this is an absolute high way robbery 😂 .

I mean charge as much as you want just deliver something that actually justifies what we pay for .

The place it self had a Great atmosphere and a really nice place both ground floor and the second floor both had an amazing seating and water fixtures and great lighting

The only disappointment in our trip if they just think about lowering the prices or literally give you an awesome dish to mach the prices it would have been a great experience .

Last thing — the staff was the saving grace for this place they were amazing hospitable and extremely friendly and...

Hands down one of my favourite restaurants in Doha. I always take my friends and family here when they visit Qatar and like myself they love the food! I highly recommend from the salads the "Halateen" the flavours of the feta cheese combined with the apple and pineapple is so delicious! From the appetisers I recommend you to try my top two favourites "Shaghameem & Samboussa Habra" I can't get enough of these two! The Kazoua Hummus is also delicious with the flavours of the meat and dakos sauce. For the main if you love tender lamb that falls of the bone then go for "Saffron Yogurt Majkouzi" absolutely the best I've tried, the flavours take you to another world. The portion of this main is definitely sufficient for two people, sometimes I can share it with three of my friends. I aim to try everything from the menu someday as the food is really flavoursome. The restaurant is lovely, super clean. I love the private rooms and the staff are always so kind and attentive. Forever coming back to this amazing restaurant. Middle eastern fusion. I loved the idea of the restaurant and menu but the theme is not clear although good enough. menu is filled with choices and dishes with a smart unique twist. The appetizers were all delicious including the Sweet and Sour Liver. The brisket machbous was such a satisfying dish as well ( did not take a photo because i was to distracted eating )

Food was served at a reasonable pace. The appetizers also did not come all at one but had an avg of 5 mins in between them. Staff are very polite and welcoming and also well trained to be professional and clean when serving your food.

Definitely will be a recommended restaurant for anyone...
