Hungry Hippo Restaurant — Restaurant in Doha

"There exist a little hippo in all of us" we were in a mood for momos and some triple Schezwan fried rice. After a good work out, what's better than relaxing like a hippo! At the entrance, one of the staff checked all the covid-19 protocols. Since its indoors, being a golden frame on ehteraz app is mandatory! However if you've just been vaccinated, it takes another 7days for the golden frame to appear on your ehteraz app. You can always show your vaccine certificate ( easy to carry a picture on the phone). The placement of the sitting arrangement is at a distance which fulfills social distancing too. ᴅɪɴɴᴇʀ:

Highlights of the evening :

1. concept of the Ambience: A very Young, creative and beautiful Ambience! Its a catch for an eye.... it will make you stay there longer.
2. Good Hygiene
3. Beautiful cutlery, and serving dishes
4. A place for sizzlers, though we didn't try them. (Every other table ordered it ) it looked and smelled smoky and sizzling.
5. soup was served hot and yummy with good amount of fried noodles to satisfy my soul, and wasn't very spicy too, with a side of dark soy sauce with green chilly dipped in. ( you choose your spice level to add in or not)
6. Momos were filled with the a tasty preparation of chicken, just the way I like it, well steamed, fully cooked, and served with peanut sauce, mild chilly sauce and sesame infused oil. Peanut sauce was 😋
7. Triple schezwan fried Rice was beautifully presented I was so hungry couldn't click a picture of the original display, it was authentic, I asked for an extra schezwan sauce and got it too. Well cooked with zucchini too🤩
8. It's a worthy meal, with a good portion too. Good work on that guys... keep it up! We hope everyone in Doha come over to this restaurant atleast once🙌🏼

ᴀʀᴇᴀꜱ ᴏꜰ ɪᴍᴘʀᴏᴠᴇᴍᴇɴᴛ: There is not much you need to work on, but believe me you guys can be one of the top most restaurants in Qatar! Just keep working towards improving everyday. Do not take a feedback as a criticism rather a ladder to climb to be among the top most!

1. Staff look a bit worked up, and aren't able to give in a 100%, please check on them, maybe you are understaffed. The Ambience and vision of the restaurant is so good, your service needs to be delightful. The service was good, but I'm giving you a feedback as I want you to be one among the topmost.
2. As I said the serving dishes were beautiful, however the triple Schezwan was served in a plastic container, its a health Hazard to have hot food served or even placed in a plastic container, please reconsider this.
3. There was very little gravy in the Triple schezwan fried Rice, I had to ask for schezwan sauce separately as it got really dry to push it down my throat.

Just a Add on the Main guy at the counter came in to take our order while the other service guys were busy, it just shows the dedication, missed on his name, black shirt tucked in, denims and spectacles is what his attire was.

We look forward to come in again, you guys are amazing.... if you're in Doha or visiting Doha, have a sneak peak, and you won't regret a bit.... All the best...

Worse Service & Unfriendly Staff (including Manager) ever experienced in any resturants. Went for takeaway, ordered for mini momo platter (12 nos) and they said will take 20 mins & we were 2 sitting & waiting at the table.

I asked after 30 mins at counter to the waiter about order but he was busy sorting talabat order, manager said madam momos take time (w/o any eye contact & continue doing his work, felt as if asking for free food). Got order after 50 mins which Manager came to table, just kept order and went away. I went to counter again & asked for extra dip as it was not sufficient for 12 momos & had same experience. I was standing & waiting at counter for revert. Was there for about 30 secs but Manager & waiter were busy i dont know with what? I walked away saying louder "No one is bothered". Thats its! No one actually did anything. Felt really insulted & leaving the order there but after almost 1 hour of waiting, had no energy to go to another restaurant & reorder.

Never going again . But may be talabat order can be good option coz there they have to deliver within whatever 40-50 mins time & u actually dont come in contact with unfriendly staff? In nutshell Hungry Hippo...

Hungry Hippo. For the name sounded like little wierd. But thanks to my friend who introduced me to this place.

This restaurant is really awesome. Good ambience, great staff, very friendly. They host you well, Nice calm place.

I ordered chicken fried rice and prawn noodles. Trust me it was one of the best fried rice and noodles i ever had in Qatar. On top of that I would say chilly chicken. It’s a really a pleasant dish. Hats-off to chef. Chef prepares exactly they way customer requests, i say this because I had a specialty request and I was overwhelmed with the taste.

This restaurant is worth for the money..! Not at all expensive. Food quantity is very sufficient

It’s a really great place even when you visit family.

There is one more thing they have tagline for conecpt of Hippo and humans when it comes to food. if you visit you may see written on wall. Really good wordings and true offcourse. We are all lazy and wish always good food.!
